No,no,no you're wrong Wedgie lad. Troy McLure, sorry Nick Xenophon, is the dinkum article. A man of true integrity.

Wow! A 24/7 airport for Monarto for export freight. Anyone who has anything to do with freight would not advise him that this is viable under any circumstances. I now seriously question who is advising him and suggest that he seeks input from industry participants.

I think we have been baging them so much they came out with some crazy shit like this to make a big statement to say yeah we are still here.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much they have thought that out, the setup and infrastructure costs would be incredible really, I agree with you about the viability of it.

However in saying that its a idea outside the box and perhaps its a good way to start thinking for Adelaide.

Matt Osborn from One Community came out this morning as a Labor stooge
Anglicare may just find themselves losing a lot of donations
These shenanigans just supports my view that churches should be taxed if they want to make political statements

Anglicare has always had a discreet connection to the SA Labor party
Now its not so discreet.....................

We should be turning the key in the locks at the nRAH in about November. ( At current best guess )

So :

In 2007 Rann says it will cost $1.7bn

In 2009 it's "sold" to us that it will open in May 2016.

In reality :

It will cost over $2.5bn and if system testing proves accurate it will open in November 2017.

$800m over budget, 18 months late.

Marshall will still **** it up and lose.

BTW, whilst I'm not at issue with churches being taxed, I'm not sure that one's entitlement to free political expression should come for a fee.

That maybe true for Anglicare in this case and I agree with your statements, but the Liberals, mostly the conservatives are also fairly well connected to the church as well. I think the good people of the cloth seem to have a influence regardless of the party in power.

I just noticed Grant Chapman is on the Board of Anglicare
Lynn Arnold was CEO at one stage.
I like Lynn. He's not your usual Labor person - the ends do not justify the means

So, you wanted a 5 year contract?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-01-31/j ... th/8226412

The head of two major public hospitals in Adelaide, the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth, has been sacked.

Julia Squire had been chief executive of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network.

Late last year, the nursing union said Ms Squire had promised not to shut down a 20-bed ward, S7, at the Royal Adelaide.

It was closed this month but threats of industrial action from nurses saw it reopened by SA Health, under what it said was a flexible arrangement based on patient demand.

SA Health said its deputy chief executive Len Richards had taken over the vacated role for now, and would continue until after the opening of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital later in the year.

Ms Squire was 16 months into a five-year contract when it was terminated last night.

SA Health's chief executive Vickie Kaminski would not be drawn on whether the problems over ward S7 were a factor in the sacking.

"We really need somebody with a more collaborative, more consultative style," Ms Kaminski said.

"What we're looking at is the need to move forward and when we think about what we have to do in the next several months, year, year-and-a-half, it just is a different leadership style."

Opposition spokesman for health Stephen Wade said he did not believe SA Health's reasons for sacking Ms Squire.

"We even have evidence in parliamentary committees with clinicians who are raising concerns about transforming health, praising the collaborative way that Julia Squire engaged with clinicians," Mr Wade said.

"SA Health is notorious for spin. I believe that Julia Squire has been made a scapegoat for the Government."

Ms Kaminski would not say how much the Government had to pay to terminate Ms Squire's contract so early.

SA Health deputy chief executive Len Richards will act in the role through to the opening of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, which is expected to be later this year.

Given my line of work theses days I've come to the conclusion that this entire department has an attitude problem. They just do as they please and don't care about anyone but themselves.....

Needs a clean out of major proportions maybe start with the minister
