Will be interesting to see how the Greens fare, they are widely tipped to pick up several lower house seats on Liberal preferences!

Just moved into vic and have no idea who should win this election. Current tips say three or four metro seats could go to the greens. From personal impressions labor will probably still win but lose some seats.

Latest market for the election:

Labor $1.28 in from $1.33 a week ago.
Coalition $3.55 out from $3.25 a week ago.

Looks like Labor is firming as the favourite to win.

No preference deal with The Greens yet ,and a lot of Greens voter majorly pissed off with labor (and Brumby in particular) - who wont preference them anyway - will see those odds lengthen again I'm guessing.

Labors fortunes have improved sharply with the Liberals decision to preference the Greens last in every seat.

The latest market reflects this:

LABOR PARTY $1.22
COALITION $4.10

They are. The Libs reply is "well if people want a Liberal Government they can vote for a Liberal government". Truth is this is naive (to say the least) and will help Labor hold the four inner city seats up for grabs effectively helping them govern in their own right. Percentage wise an election analyist on the radio this morning said it changes the potential Green preferences from 80% to roughly 40% as people will still not always follow the how to vote card and vote their own way.
My trouble with this election is I've been in Victoria long enough to remember what Kennett did and what Bracks/Brumby didn't. ;)

We should all be afraid, apart from the acceptable public faces in parliament, the rank and file of these people are unrealistic and barking mad, yes I know the coalition have Katter and Joyce as supporters /members

Depending where you read on who will win. The HeraldSun seems to say Labor will be back but the Coalition will gain a few seats off them. But the HeraldSun loves the Coalition and gives them alot of Love.

Going down to the wire this one. Labor will probably get back in with Green preferences...ironic considering their attacks on them during the campaign.

Agree with you there LL but I feel this may be the last chance Labor will get running this state for a while if they do nothing for the state.

According to some media pundits, looking ominous for the ALP in this one. Wondering if there will be a similar "protest vote" to the one that saw Kennett voted out somewhat unexpectedly in 1999.

I wonder if it will mirror the SAQ election?

ie: Liberal win more than 50% of the vote, but Labor retain some key seats to hold government?

I dunno there R&B Bellyache I don't feel has done enough to sway some voters and Victorians should remember how much good and yet damage Jeff did to this state. I am not a labor person even though it looks like I am through my postings I just don't trust the Liberal party and never have.
