If it gets called then, when will we have to go to the polling booths?

We get the double whammy here in Victoria, as we have a state election due later in the year as well.

(I just realised I said we when refering to Victorians :shock: I'll be saying hatch instead of aytch and dants instead of darnce next.) [-x

I have discovered the latest polling info on the election, as it relates to Forums.

Labor 38%

Liberal 31%

Those who have always voted Labor, but won't this time 15%

(Includes those who have always voted Labor, but won't this time, but use the words Krudd or socialist bastards in the same sentence)

Greens 12%

(Includes 3% who say they'll vote Green, but never do when they actually vote)

Informal and others 4%

(Dependent on Psyber's application to have his vote count as 1,000 votes)*

* Only kidding, Psyber :D

It was a joke, Psyber, really :D

The PM is set to announce Climate policy on Thursday. The GG heads overseas on Saturday until Wednesday. So I'm leaning towards it being announced the following weekend to coincide with the split round of the SANFL. ;) I was tipping a Sept 4 date so I'll stick with that.

I thought the minimum period was 33 days after the writs have been issued before a Cwlth election could be held?

Hopefully after the RSL at Colonel Light Gardens gets their grant for a new air-conditioning system.
It's due any day soon.

A few big decisions are lined up to be made next week and another by 31 July. So the election date might be announced on Sat 24 July or Sat 31 July. A minimum 33 days puts the date at either 28 Aug or 4 Sept.

Apparently if you take notice of all the flop going around then it will be announced tomorrow (16th July). Which points to the 28th August I believe.
