Rorts

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Rorts

Surely when a government says that the Auditor-General should be ignored when he says there has been serious rorting and corruption going on, their use-by date has long gone.

Because Labor have not/will not rort?

It's a gravy train and they all like the first class carriage. It's all about not getting caught. Spend long enough in power and there will be a truckload of reasons to be voted out.

Google 'state of denial'.

The Commonwealth auditor-general has said that the Government rorted the Regional Grants program big-time.

Forget the debating points, just look at the facts.

Corruption.

I did and it came up with Mike Rann denying to blame Bracks/Brumby for the failure of the Murray Basin plan and the resultant lack of funding.... :D

When I added "corruption" I came up with Keating's Pig farm......

Hey R&B this is an election between John Howard and a man who is trying to be like John Howard ("Just like John, Rudd will consult PM " screams tomorrow's Fish and Chip wrapping)

Why shouldn't I (and the rest of Australia) vote for the real thing next weak instead of the pale imitation....??

TM, what you might think others may or may not have done doesn't excuse corruption by the Howard Government, no matter how you spin it.

Well, I'm sorry but I have issues with Marl Vaile ,fullstop.
This is a man with zero credibility, after his deplorable handling of the AWB wheat scandal. When as trade minister he ok'd the deals done by AWB when they virtually stuffed cash in Saddam's pocket.

Like Mark Vaile would stand in the way of the farmers, not much chance of that. The farming industry is a bigger drain on society than the unemployed "bludgers" they so often bag.

When you pour your milk on your ceral tomorrow just think of a poor dairy farmer from Myponga who hadn't had a holiday in over 10 years when I was playing there in the early 90s. Only break he had from "pulling tits" was Sat night and Sunday morning so he could play sport and have a few beers each Sat night with teh luxury of one morning a week he didn't have to get up at 4:30 am.

In 1996 when milk was $1.40 a Litre think of the dairy farmers who were only getting 18 c a litre from the $1.40 you paid.

Think of the farmers in the Wimmera of Victoria who have five years of zero net income from their crops.

Yeah farmers are bludgers.....

Why not walk away and get a job at holdens on the line then...Because they think it is a god given right to inherit a job/house for life thats why .Economies of scale say there are far too many farms fullstop for them to all make a living but they get subsidised to a ridiculous level. The local pizza shop owner doesn't get such luxuries...I ya cant run ya business get out and let ya neighbour buy you out and use his machinery on more land to get better value. No sympathy whatsoever. My milk will be there no matter what I dont give a rats arse if farmer A or B produces it and dont give a shit if it a comes from a 3rd generation farm or not.The farmers stopped carrying the country in about 1920 ,since then it has well and truly been the other way around. How long would they last at Holdens clocking in and out eveyday and asking for a piss break. The spoilt darlings I grew up with would not last 5 minutes.Hello Jamestown .

Yes and she lost her seat as a result.

Would only be fair if Johnny, Costello and Vaile etc etc lost theirs as well.
