A Message from a Miner in Kalgoorlie

Postby Sojourner » Wed Nov 14, 2007 1:08 pm

Here is an email forward I recieved!

Message from a hard working Aussie

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit In order to earn that pay cheque, as I work on a mine site o n a Kalgoorlie (WA) construction project, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to
get a Centerlink Payment because I have to pass one to earn it for them??

Please understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their backsides drinking grog & smoking dope.

Could you imagine how much money the Government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a Centerlink Payment ?????

Please pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't.

Hope you all will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country, and soon!

What's his problem? The current government reckons that unemployment's at an all time low....

He's picking an easy target me thinks.

IMO if you are on the dole, and you can't get a job (just about mission impossible nowadays), then community service is the go. Pick up rubbish, clean gutters, help the elderly. Do something to earn your money.
I do HACC's driving for the council, and also work in my daughters school tuck shop, and assist the school in cooking of BBQ's etc etc. Schools and Councils can't get enough volunteers so make the people who can't get a job do something like that (pending police clearance :? ).
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

When I was last unemployed living in SA I put my hand up and went for Work for the dole I did two month's service got two references and then I went to around 4 to 5 labor hire places and applied for work one got back to me within a week and I was working. I am not afraid to do work for the dole or anything like that I have a top job now plenty of time to plot world domination.
A bloke came into my work today to sell an old phone and i mean old we said no and he asked the manager why?
My manager said " look mate it is too old it will never sell."
The bloke replied " i am unemployed and i am looking for a bit of a hand to get ahead."
My boss replied " You look young and fit get a job."

And we wonder why Today Tonight and ACA rate so well. :(
