For Family First.

Why if in the bible it says not "Love thy neighbour" "Do unto others" and "Thou shalt kill" do some of your members openly endorse the killing of gays?

Because, like all religious fundamentalists, we are opportunistic hypocrites who are only
interested in telling other people how to run their lives.

So they can save it - after they have had it in their hands it will be born anew in the Lord. All our money should be sent to them so it can find the Lord and be saved too!
I assume that's what they went to see John Howard about.

because contrary to popular belief churches do a lot of important work in the community, work that noone else wants to do, unfortunately that takes money.

I agree, churches are often the ones doing societies dirty work, however I think there is a big difference between your traditional uniting or catholic church and the assemblies of god mega churches.

Well the christian nutbags are the ones lobbying and throwing money to promote good old 1950's social policy (and random other causes such as censorship) in Australia. Even if the hardline islamic movement had/has the same goals it really wouldn't matter as they dont have the ear of powerful people that the christian right do.

But I totally agree that if it isn't your cup of tea you should just let it be, but thats my main issue with the christian right, they cant do that, they feel the need to try and repress anything they dont like.

edit: and after posting this i went to news.com.au, and found this new story, perfect example of them not being able to 'let it be'. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22 ... 09,00.html ( mind you it is the US so its a whole extra layer of nutbag)
