At the forthcoming federal election which member of the Coalition would you most to see lose their seat? A tough question I know as there are so many candidates but seeing a few long faces on Election Night is always good sport.

My Top Three.

1. Howard - very possible and would be the ultimate repudiation of all he's stood for.
2 Downer - far less likely but would wipe the smug smirk of his face for a moment I'm sure.
3. Abbott - just a flat out knob.

Honourable mentions to Brendan Nelson, Julie Bishop and Mark "I don't recall" Vaile.

John Howard's. Hasn't it only happened once to a prime minister, losing their seat? I would also love that pompas idiot Downer to lose his- can't stand his smirk!!

Garn, Alexander is really quite nice when you get to know him! He went out to the kitchen and got me a coffee himself the last time I went to see him about an issue.

I didnt think Lord Downer would know how to pass water let alone boil it. I would have thought his "man servant" would have prepared it along with some frightfully fresh cucumber sandwiches without the crusts.

He probably would have even if he hadn't gotten anything else. I emailed Alexander several times about the poor treatment of David Hicks and got replies, even if we agreed to disagree about the management of the situation. He is never rude to people.

Then you have no idea! No, he is not like that at all. He is being judged by his accent, which is a speech pattern based on how his family spoke, how his peers spoke at Geelong, and his tertiary education in the UK.

My mother is a Pom, and when I went to pre-school in Bowden, I was famous for the time when I said, "..and if you insist upon my eating pink junket I shall have to ask for our money back!" I was far to young to be being pretentious.

My wife grew up in Queenstown and sounds like the BBC because she was ill as a child, rarely got to primary school, and learned what speech sounded like from the ABC radio - which made it difficult for her when she taught school at Elizabeth, so she got a job at Blackfriars where there was less inverted snobbery.

I don't think that qualified as a personal attack or personal rudeness to any individual, but I concede his sense of humour can be a little lame.
