Far-right Liberal Party extremist Cory Bernardi has been forced to resign as shadow parliamentary secretary to Tony Abbott after his vile comments linking same sex marriage to bestiality:

LIBERAL senator Cory Bernardi has been forced to resign as shadow parliamentary secretary to Tony Abbott following his remarks linking gay marriage to bestiality.
The Opposition Leader said Senator Bernardi had made “one mistake too many”.

In his place, Mr Abbott appointed Senator Arthur Sinodinos as his parliamentary secretary. He also appointed South Australian MP Jamie Briggs as shadow parliamentary secretary to families spokesman Kevin Andrews.

Mr Abbott said Senator Bernardi had made “ill-disciplined remarks” to the Senate, and had compounded the offence by repeating them on morning radio.

Cory Bernardi is beneath contempt. It's often hard to tell, but there does exist a line between right-wing fanaticism and lunacy, and this time he's crossed it. Put it this way: if even Andrew Bolt says you should resign, you know you must be pretty f***ing nuts.

I'm lost where the link is, other than journalists and people who jump at any opportunity to have a crack (pun intended)
His comment is "where to next?"
He didn't link bestiality to gay marriage - he just asked at what point does legalisation stop?
Why should we stop at gay marriage? What's wrong with polygamy?

Even the UK's right-wing government are trying to distance themselves from the odious Cory Bernardi:

Senator Bernardi today arrived in London, where the Prime Minister David Cameron's Tory Party distanced itself from his views ahead of a weekend conference of European conservatives.

The European Young Conservative Freedom Summit in Oxford this weekend is organised by Conservative Future - the youth wing of Britain's Tory party.

A party spokesman told the UK's Mail Online it did not condone Senator Bernardi's views.

“We haven't organised this event and are not in control of who attends,” he said.

“We strongly condemn Mr Bernardi's comments which don't reflect (Prime Minister) David Cameron's or the Conservative Party's viewpoint in any way.”

Don't get upset, Jimmy.

For the record I heard the story today and then had a look online for an article about it and that was all I could find.

Ha ha - the old getting upset tag.
It's just your predictable hypocrisy.
In fact, if it had been a lefty saying it, you would never had posted it on here.
Stick to your far left rags and try to regain some credibility.

Not much I agree with Swan on, but I do agree with his sentiments on the current state of the US Republican Party.

I've talked to Cory Bernardi a few times.
He is civil and polite when you disagree with him, but he is very right wing and does appear to have a closed mind.
However, closed minds exist on the left fringe as well.

I learnt how to read the facts and make my own decision instead of relying on others to tell me what to think. What did you ever learn?
By the way, I didn't go to Princes - just shows how easy you are led.
Gees, any possibility you could look past your own nose and think for yourself? ;)
And just to show you how vacuous you lot really are, not one comment about both houses comprehensively voting the bill down.
But that's probably a minor issue to you.

The Liberal Party voted as a block on the issue in both houses, and I am the one who doesn't think for himself??? :-k

Do they ever. I'm a leftie myself and I've got a lot of left-wing extremist mates who are about one vegan patty short of sticking an alfoil helmet over their heads to protect them from government brainwashing/nuclear holocaust. Everything's a bloody crusade, and they shout and brandish their goon goblets at me if I suggest otherwise. Whereas I believe in keeping an open mind - surely the more you learn about something, the more equipped you are to form an opinion?

bullshit, it needs to be genuine tin foil. alfoil is a cheap alternative that wont work at all. aluminium just doesnt have the appropriate brainwashing resistance rating. although the ice cream container is definitely required ;)
