National Disability Scheme appears to have been reneged on, no money in the budget, another election promise out the window...

I'm sure it hasn't been reneged on, Soj.

I don't think it was going to start for some years yet?

Seems to be the way of the future - announce policy or infrastructure for several years in advance, then when it rolls around such as the Morphett Rd Overpass, simply defer it....

LNP candidate Gavin King calls own party 'bunch of bogans':

MORE past comments have come back to haunt Liberal National Party (LNP) candidate Gavin King, this time on his own party's fitness to govern.

LNP leader Campbell Newman is under pressure to dump his Cairns candidate over comments he made as a newspaper columnist, in which he suggested women who drink to excess may be partly to blame if they are assaulted.

Minister for Women Karen Struthers today read to parliament Mr King's column following the infamous "Fettagate" incident of 2008.

In it, two LNP MPs were seen arguing outside a Greek restaurant in Cairns after failing to settle their bill.

Ms Struthers read to parliament Mr King's column on the incident, in which he apparently called the MPs "a bunch of bogans".

"In his own words Gavin King said: 'The LNP could run a farm better than most people. I'm just not sure we want them running the state'," Ms Struthers said.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm also for a Republic - I was incensed when Bob Menzies tried to call our new decimal currency the "Royal" in 1966..
But my understanding is that the only reason we aren't already a Republic is that our two major parties conspired to offer a tame system they could control totally, and that model was unacceptable to the majority of the public. They did not respond by offering us an alternative model we may accept because it didn't suit them.

They couldn't trust us to make a decision ourselves, so it failed.
Mind you, some of them are proof; they are right.
Delightfully ironic, isn't it.

I didn't read the story, but Simon Benson and Gemma Jones are the two worst 'journalists' in Australia.

Oh, by the way, Soj, let me know when you find a positive story for Labor in the Terrorgraph ;)

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, southee.

I said I didn't read it.

I said the journalists write shit.

If it's poor form, what about Mr Abbott saying his Deputy knows nothing about her portolio?

Can't debate opinions, TSG?

Safer for you to attack the poster?

My question still stands unanswered, but I enjoy that as site troll you find it necessary to be the first to answer so many of my posts.

I know that southee can debate for himself without your usual unconstructive sniping.

Have a good night, though, you're always good for a laugh for being so predictable :D

Thanks Southee, I always enjoy a debate with you.

I can understand what you're saying, but my comment was on your last sentence,.

I can't comment on an article I said I haven't read, but I can comment on a comment you made.

Fair enough?
