One thing I know for certain is that Joyce was the only person at Qantas who had the authority to manually process an upgrade regardless of availability.
Other staff can process upgrades if there is availability at the time
errrrrrr, can you give upgrades Jim?![]()

I had to use them 10 years ago because someone else was paying for it & wouldn't let me pay for it and reimburse. Distinctly terrible trip
Other than that; its 22 years for me & I was a 5 - 10 O/S trip per year until covid
Rules of OS travel: No airline with the word China or has a Q in it
It's cost me Lifetime Platinum but I dont care

We have flown Qatar business several times including twice this year and they are unparalleled almost in the service they provide. Fantastic airline

Dependant on stopover time they offer you a free night at a choice of a few hotels or for longer stays they offer great rates on many 4 and 5 star properties as stop over package.Jimmy_041 wrote:
I went to London with them last year
I always wear good clothes then get changed into rugby top and shorts for the flight.
I usually go to the toilet to get changed but thought I was OK to change in the Q Suite
All good, until the hostie looked over the top of the door to ask me if I wanted a drink![]()
Fortunately I was still clothed
But, yes - everything about them was great including the lounge in Doha
I didn't know at the time but if your lay over in Doha is over a certain time you can get a free room in the airport hotel

All 30 upgrades offered to him by airlines in the last 25 years are declared and on the public record according to his spokesperson
Either this is not factual from Albo and it will be the end of him 1% chance.
If it is factual then it tarnishes the accuracy and veracity of the book.99% chance. Pity.
Biggest question will be sue for defamation or let it ride?
Still interesting that it has taken him so long to deny it
Imagine if there is a Senate Inquiry and Joyce is called, attends, and is asked, under oath, the question.....![]()
I'd bank we wont see Joyce on these shores for a long time
Considering the Lehrmann / Higgins / Reynolds saga, I would reckon most pollies would be steering clear of defamation trials for a long time

I think that is right but I think Labor would love him to be in front of a SEC.
They will hammer the 2.4 billion dollar gift that the libs under Morrison gave Qantas.
Bridgett MacKenzie and Peter Dutton have taken any pressure off Albo considerably.
All of this (pissy upgrades) though to me is an unnecessary side show to what should be the detailing and bringing to light the performance of Goyder and Joyce.
It is just another reason why Goyder should be arseholed out of the AFL commission.

Have to be travelling in first class or Qatar Platinun in any class.
When we were there a few weeks back there was only about 30 people in there and we had 3 staff to our table.
