errrrrrr, can you give upgrades Jim? 8-[

Asking for a friend

How do you think Jim travels so frequently? :YMDAYDREAM:

:D
I have to fly with Qantas for work but for leisure it’s all Virgin which can be 20-30 flights per year. I have taken on average 20+ international flights per year and haven’t set foot on a Qantas International flight for about 6 years.

I had to use them 10 years ago because someone else was paying for it & wouldn't let me pay for it and reimburse. Distinctly terrible trip

Other than that; its 22 years for me & I was a 5 - 10 O/S trip per year until covid

Rules of OS travel: No airline with the word China or has a Q in it
It's cost me Lifetime Platinum but I dont care

I went to London with them last year
I always wear good clothes then get changed into rugby top and shorts for the flight.
I usually go to the toilet to get changed but thought I was OK to change in the Q Suite
All good, until the hostie looked over the top of the door to ask me if I wanted a drink
Fortunately I was still clothed

But, yes - everything about them was great including the lounge in Doha
I didn't know at the time but if your lay over in Doha is over a certain time you can get a free room in the airport hotel

Gee, some of these Labor politicians are tin eared
They say they represent to the poor and needy but live a smashing life whilst doing it

She's selling her mothers house and her own to get it but that will get ignored

Dependant on stopover time they offer you a free night at a choice of a few hotels or for longer stays they offer great rates on many 4 and 5 star properties as stop over package.
We always stay at least 2 nights at either the Fairmont or Raffles in Lusail as we get automatic free suite upgrades plus a stack of perks. Raffles have offered us a free airport pick up in their Bentley next time.
Due to Qatar FF status we have access to their first class lounge and the food and beverages are awesome. 4 course meal with some of the best steaks you can get

If it is factual then it tarnishes the accuracy and veracity of the book.99% chance. Pity.

Biggest question will be sue for defamation or let it ride?

Still interesting that it has taken him so long to deny it
Imagine if there is a Senate Inquiry and Joyce is called, attends, and is asked, under oath, the question..... =P~
I'd bank we wont see Joyce on these shores for a long time

Considering the Lehrmann / Higgins / Reynolds saga, I would reckon most pollies would be steering clear of defamation trials for a long time

I think that is right but I think Labor would love him to be in front of a SEC.

They will hammer the 2.4 billion dollar gift that the libs under Morrison gave Qantas.

Bridgett MacKenzie and Peter Dutton have taken any pressure off Albo considerably.

All of this (pissy upgrades) though to me is an unnecessary side show to what should be the detailing and bringing to light the performance of Goyder and Joyce.

It is just another reason why Goyder should be arseholed out of the AFL commission.

It’s simply staggering that Goyder is still Chairman of the AFL.

Anyway, Albo’s naked grab for the youth votes is a winner in this household … three daughters with student debt welcome a 20% write off of that debt.

They other measure to reduce the repayment thresholds will create more debt in the long run however, by extending the repayment period.

The main killer for uni graduates is the yearly indexation of their debt, more should be done to address this otherwise for some, it’s a losing battle. Not all graduates end up earning large incomes.

Apparently Albo has defeated the inflation crisis
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... ion-crisis

Problem is this comment:
“When we came to government annual inflation had a six in front of it and was rising.
Now it has a two in front of it, and it’s falling."

It has a two in front of it because of the government subsidies of ~$3Bn

These are the people that want to bring in a Mis/Disinformation regime that excludes them

Still good though
Qatar block elites of other One World airlines from their first lounge.
Have to be travelling in first class or Qatar Platinun in any class.
When we were there a few weeks back there was only about 30 people in there and we had 3 staff to our table.

‘Australia’s most hated person’: An autopsy of Alan Joyce’s career
In a span of six months the Qantas CEO went from 'the best CEO in Australia by a length of a straight' to being totally forsaken.
