A FORMER South Australian football player has been found guilty of assaulting the state's parliamentary Speaker by hurling a bucket of water over him.
DAVE Granger, 60, who played more than 100 games for Port Adelaide in the SANFL in the 1970s and 1980s and three games for St Kilda, represented himself in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He arrived at court wearing a white potty on his head and carrying the bucket he used in the alleged attack on MP Michael Atkinson in March last year.
Mr Atkinson told the court he was letterboxing in his electorate on his bike when Granger shouted abuse and tipped the water over him.
Granger was found guilty of one basic count of assault and placed on a two-year good behaviour bond.
He was also ordered to pay $420 in prosecution costs and victims of crime levy.

They know all the laws and legislation, but don't really 'get' people, or the nuances of human relations.

Bloody hell, I was only kidding about how stuffed we would be. I didnt need the treasurer to go out of his way to root us further.
Although as soom as the libs can finally get in there will be a for sale sign on the front of SA Water. So im not sure they will have much more of a plan.

FFS Unemployment up to 8.2% this month. Up from 7.6% from last month.
Worst in the country by a fair way now.
And this is with Holdens still open.

Jay Weatherill’s government retains a solid lead in the latest Newspoll result, which records no change worth noting on any measure.
The Australian brings us a Newspoll result of state voting intention in South Australia for the April-June quarter which shows no change whatsoever on voting intention, with Labor maintaining a 54-46 lead from primary votes of 36% for Labor, 33% for the Liberals, 10% for the Greens and an improbable 21% for all others combined. Jay Weatherill is up two on both approval and disapproval, to 45% and 43% respectively, while Steven Marshall is steady on 41% and up two to 39%. Weatherill has increased his lead as preferred premier from 47-31 to 48-29.

400 people out of work today.
300 with pathology SA and another 100 with ASC.
The left will blame the right. The right will blame the left. The state will blame the feds. The feds will blame the state and in the end there will be 400 people without jobs that we can add to our 8.2% unemployment.

Weatherill supports a 15% gst on everything
I know small businesses who are scraping by at the moment but if his 15% comes in they will close....
So it wont be that beneficial to the economy.
people aren't spending now so how this helps I dont know

I don't come on this thread often enough!
Yep still more contractors that will go and as for us full timers we don't know what will happen with our jobs. The Unions are doing everything they can to get more work. There's still plenty of work left in the AWD project but it's still a shit position to be in, all we do now is pray our federal government will give us more work.
Personally I'm starting to look at buying a house but not knowing what will happen with my jobs future it makes it very difficult.

May also depend on whether other taxes are scrapped and/or compensation provided, especially for low income earners.

The Libs are hammering Biggsy at the moment over his spending.
Today they're having a crack at his hiring of hire cars to drive him short distances.
It makes interesting reading, but...as we've seen with the Feds, it's a slippery slope when you pollies start throwing mud at each other about spending.

This is in place now. For new developments private companies can run the water and waste water requirements.
Not so sure about existing infrastructure but new developments are a free for all.
Although how long until SA Water is sold off?
