I wasnt aware that apparently Labor had an election promise of 100k new jobs by next year. I would say they would be in the negative at the moment as currently they are reducing the public service numbers.

That was Media Mike in about 2009, so don't even bother.

The lying bastards could tell you in the morning they're having a sandwich for lunch, don't believe them though. 3 hours is a long time to keep a promise, let alone 5 years!

I just thought it was interesting because well I couldn't remember it and even though it will be and epic fail on Labors behalf, I haven't heard much from the opposition about this.

I find that strange. It is almost like a free hit and letting it go through to the keeper.

Who do you think has been banging on to media about it, so finally they report it?
Same as Gillman. The media didn't want to know about it last year even though it stunk to high heaven. According to them it was old news
Very easy to control the media in SA - just threaten to block their supply lines and they capitulate.
The Australian's Michael Owen is the only one with the cods to take them on

Bollocks, I've been listening to the media report on Gillman loads over the past year.
Who is not reporting on it? Who wouldn't report on it?

It was an item in January last year before the election when Koutsantonis said the Board did not reject the deal and there was nothing to see.
The only one that kept on about it was Ian Henschke on 891.
Lucas, Parnell and Darley kept digging but the rest of the media hardly mentioned it
It was only when the Supreme Court gave their decision did it hit the fan

Now that's a fair comment. A bit different to no media reporting on it, as per your original comment.
I've heard Henschke and Abraham/Bevan questioning the government about it throughout the past year - from before the election until now.
As far as the other media goes, it's probably not sexy enough for their consumers.

Nothing that can be the subject of legal proceedings, but interested in the views regarding Mr Bernard Finnigan. It's all before the courts now, and while no one likes the people who dabble in "that sort of thing" its certainly taken it's sweet time to make it through the courts. All the while this bloke is claiming a wage, and a pension.... Bloody ordinary in my view.

Discuss...

Michael Abbott QC has done a good job getting the charges reduced and downgraded
Finnigan has to keep working (I nearly choked on that word - what a laugh) sorry, getting paid so he can afford the $10,000 per day
Mind you, I don't think he has much else to spend his money on. Most things he'd like are :-#
Don't you love the Labor faction system that gave this person Minister for Industrial Relations, State/Local Government Relations and Gambling

Correct weight. It was interesting how they got the charges downgraded. Rather poor allround.

There are a large number of cases that have their charges downgraded. It's a regularly used gambit to secure a conviction on the lesser charges due to proof. As far as I can see, no conspiracy there.
