Not a lot to wreck down here in the welfare state.
Mind you, I am impressed with the daily press releases from Jay the Saviour that he's going to do something / somewhere / sometime or something like that. I can't wait for the next round of announcements in 3 years that he's actually started all of those something / somewhere / sometime thingys

Are the new 5,000 jobs in the PS (now that is believable) or are they part of the 100,000 4 years ago or are they on top of the 100,000? I'm getting confused with all of these fantastic announcements. Lucky Gail Gaggo is in the driver's seat or we'd all be worried

Meanwhile, back in the real world, I can't wait for the 2014–15 Mid-Year Budget Review.
Rumours are she'll be a bottler. That's why they want the Fisher by-election in early December - you won't see the MYBR before that.

That may well be all correct, but it's also important to note that there's little credibility in the Opposition who are arguably a bigger rabble.

With a proper clean-out, including the hopeless Steven Marshall, the Liberals should romp it in at the next election, but how many times have we said that in the past?

Still love how public service employees are painted as fat cats who do nothing. You do realise if I don't do the job that job gets contracted out for twice to three times that amount?

Yes I am also aware of this. Based on chargeout rates from companies, you could be paying a government employee say $42 per hour and the overall cost is say $50 per hour for them to be there. A contracting company will charge at least 4 - 5 times that.

In the South Australian Political Landscape thread ...

dedja wrote:Just looking through the list of current Liberal MPs, shit there's not much talent there.

Their new leader surely has to come from outside the party, of the existing mob, possibly the only one with any hope is Dan van Holst Pellekaan, possibly John Gardner, can't see Cory Wingard going all the way.

Lucas, Chapman, Ridgway, Pisoni, Griffiths, McFetridge, Willams, Redmond and Stephens should join Evans and give it away.

Chapman 2nd on the list ... yep, I'm her most loyal supporter

Having lived in numerous other countries, the ATO is probably the most efficient and effective public service department we have
