Yeah, that was a good read.

Sounds a lot like europe in he 1800s and early 1900s, hopefully this isn't a precursor to the big powers finally squaring off

The same as Russia's thoughts.
"Eureka - the Yanks are being occupied in more places which means they have less time and ability to worry about what we are doing."
So China carries on trying to wipe out the 5 poisons and consolidate the 7-dash line, whilst Russia hits the Ukraine to prevent it joining NATO and preserve access to the Mediterranean Sea.

Which is the ISIS playbook and that of every terrorist/insurgent group (but I'm sure you were alluding to the Australian Government).

Bump*

Very topical at the moment. Pretty much a bloody mess and part of which has been created by trying to backdoor topple Assard in Syria.

So considering there are now rumours of Turkey hitting Syrian Kurds fighting against IS. Where does this leave the world?

And also Russia getting boots on the ground to assist Assard.

Still a clusterphuck. Originally backed the Rebel movement... Now we'll drop bombs on them. Standard US foreign policy.
