Is it over for Rann?

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

1. Her version is entirely true.
2. She is exaggerating for revenge or money.

Anything more complex, involving politics, bikies, or aliens, while it may be possible, is probably less likely...

I wonder what part the ex husband plays in this? Might need the money to get a third ring in the left earhole or buy another New Idea.

I don't know if it's true or not but I've been told from someone who should know that the bikies are behind the whole thing.

I take it that as Mr Rann says that this is a personal matter and does not affect his role as Premier, his defamation action will be funded by himself, and the State will not have to indemnify him for all legal costs if he loses

The motivation for this gets more interesting.

As part of her interview on 7 last night, she said it's been very difficult, as 'she had had to bare her soul to the world'.

Why, when two weeks ago she asked for privacy. Her reason for doing it is that her husband could know the truth. That's laughable, why didn't she just tell her? What husband would want it broadcast to the world anyway? Who's pushing this agenda?

I also notice the 'Tiser 'putting a list of 'unanswered questions' to Rann this morning. I didn't see a corresponding list of unanswered questions to Michelle Chantelois.

Must have been an oversight.

On second thought - I'd better not post it. He doesn't seem to have a sense of humour at the moment

So is this all turning into one big fizzer or what?

I notice it's slowly dropping off the headlines. Unless she's got anything new to add the story will just run out of steam.

I thought we were up for a week of drip fed bombshells.

I noticed they tracked down her mother who painted a picture of her daughter marrying too young, her marriage being unhappy, and how she never liked her son in law anyway! I wondered what was the point and where's the story gone if that's what it had reduced to after 2 days!

May need an injection of funds from another source to keep up the momentum.
Must add I don't get overly enthused with the husband, something just not quite right there! Plenty of "froth & bubbles" on the outside but has a certain smell about it, maybe the mortgage at Burnside is eating into his wealth pot, and I wonder why she was working as a waitress?
He is supposed to be a minor 'mover & shaker' I believe, but perhaps only when peoples backs are turned.

Last night I occupied the Premiers' seat in the House of Representatives for a about 20 minutes.
A somewhat wryly amusing experience in the present context, good for future jokes perhaps..
Fortunately Mike wasn't there at the time, so I didn't have to share it with him.

By the way having spent some time talking to Isobel, I rather like her, and her view for Adelaide's development.
I didn't know she used to work for Duncan, Groom, Hannon. That must have been tricky for a Liberal Party member....

Did it seem a natural fit, Psyber ;)

Just to be pedantic, though, try the House of Assembly, not Representatives.

Isobel and I agreed I'd take the Upper House and leave the lower house to her after I tried that seat too..
Yes, "House of Assembly" - the parliamentary wine stock must have affected me more than I thought - nice Cabernet Merlot..

Psyber, I trust you didn't emulate the alleged Rann-Gate "desk hopping' with the lady farmer from the West. I reckon she'd break your nuts in one single action.

All very decent and proper - drawing a clear distinction from the incumbent Premier. ;)
Isobel did crack a joke about having the desk replaced, or at least thoroughly cleaned, to our little group she was showing through the building.
Both Liberal and Labor sources have now informed me Mike has a long term pattern of entertaining women in the House.

I have to say that I agree with your judgement that you'd be better suited in the Upper House, mate.

I think you've missed your time, though. I see you as an MLC in the Playford era, under the electoral system of the time where only the landed gentry had a vote ;)

Only kidding, of course, although your propensity to attach a lot of weight to unsubstantiated hearsay worries me a little.

On second thoughts, I might have been a bit harsh with the Playford era comment, so I sincerely apologise. I now realise you would fit wonderfully in the Federal Liberal Party faction of Nick Minchin and his Flat Earth Society 8)

Something just twigged Psyber - I am a great fan of the tv show Judge John Deed

On your travels through Parliament House, did you happen to notice security cameras in the corridors around, and in, the Premier's office?
