And the way the Liberals are behaving federally you'll have about another five, but probably eight, years of it.

Enjoy. :D

Of course you are so right, the Indonesian solution is going well, much better than Howard's Pacific solution.

So you're in favour of asylum seekers being processed on Australian soil?

Right on comrade.

As opposed to the man who'd be screaming blue murder if refugees were processed on shore. You should be applauding Rudd's 'tough stance' shouldn't you? But no.

Only eight more years Mick, suck it up. :D

Howard is history mate you should get over it I have. Do I applaud Rudd's stance No! I'm rather disgusted he has sacrificed one of the principles he won the election on for political gain. That's hypocrisy isn't it? He's afraid of the people who Labor are supposed to support, the not so well educated or well off who generally have a redneck attitude to refugees as they see them as threats to their jobs might be inclined to vote for someone else. Do I think refugees should be beaten up in Indonesia? No I don't. Would it worry me if refugees are processed in Australia? No it would not cause me to change my vote, even if Howard had introduced processing on the Austaralian mainland, I would still have voted for him, However, you will continue to vote for Rudd even though on this issue he is equally as bad as Howard. How will you sleep? Will Rudd be in power for another eight years? based upon the current opposition not an unreasonable assessment, however things change very quickly in politics. Interest rates will rise significantly over the next few years to pay for the recent government spending spree, this coupled with the carbon tax will produce some interesting results. 8)

I agree Mick. Rudd was elected as someone who would be more socially responsible while maintaining Australia in a strong economic position.

So far he has done neither.

Well Jimmy041, although your shouting was as simplistic and jingoistic as we've come to expect from you, that's partly why we're a great country.

Obviously you prefer the laws and customs of the countries you've mentioned.

I prefer ours.

I don't think it's meant as humour, mate; it's just the usual junk.

I rarely delete anything and there's no need to delete that. I'd rather let it stay and let others draw their own conclusions.

If you get past the capitals and the ideology it does raise interesting questions though.
I wonder what happens in the US, Canada, UK, and European countries...
Anyone know?
