Yeah never heard of him before but pretty poor form by that Labor MP calling Julie Bishop a bimbo.

She's hardly a bimbo for starters and dodgy might've been a better description.

It looks like Paul Keating has tapered off.
IIRC his figures were very high in the first several years after he ceased being PM.

Just when I thought a lot of politicians didn't live in the real world, I heard Christine Milne and she absolutely takes the cake when it comes to not having a clue.

those costs will just be passed on to the person paying the bill, so politicians won't care about that cost increase

Frazer needs his to run around supporting the Political Left. :D

In all seriousness however, Prime Minister Howard served the country seven days a week along with work days far in excess of what most of us do, I think its fair enough that he does what he likes considering the same scheme has been used for a number of years by various Prime Ministers from both the ALP and the Liberals, if Julia Gillard however wants to put up a bill to have it cancelled for future former Prime Ministers and states that she rejects it for herself personally then I would support that also.

I've got this vague memory PK ran up about $640K one year not long after he ceased to be PM, but I admit I'm not sure of the figure.

Looks like that memory isn't as reliable as it used to be.

Only reason he said "this is the sweetest victory of all"
It legitimised him to do what he is doing now.
He is, ONLY, a one term Prime Minister
He is a bloke that batted above his average

News Corp's iPad app 'The Daily' is being wound up due to a lack of readers:

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation has announced it will cease publication of its iPad app, The Daily, from December 15, due to a lack of readers.

Mr Murdoch called The Daily - exclusively designed for touchscreen tablets and costing 99 cents a week or $39.99 a year - "a bold experiment".

This guy is a real piece of work:

WEST Australian Premier Colin Barnett says the relentless media pursuit of accident-prone senior minister Troy Buswell should be called off, after more lurid allegations surfaced about the treasurer's drunken altercation with a multi-millionaire.

In the latest in a long line of embarrassing incidents which have dogged his political career, Mr Buswell was accused of "dry-humping" businessman Nick Kailis, boss of the Kailis Bros seafood empire, at a party attended by several other corporate heavy hitters.

The fact the allegations were fuelled by his former partner and Independent MP Adele Carles added another salacious chapter to the rapsheet of the politician unfortunately best known for chair-sniffing and bra-snapping antics in his past.
