After the Frome By-Election result, I would suggest that Labor are quite likely to win the next election, I dont think that the Liberal Party have done enough to be able to overhaul a lead of 11 seats!

You are probably right, however in the early 80s Des Corcoran who was Don Dunstan's successor managed to lose an election against all the polls and Des was a decent honest bloke. It was funny I handing out how to vote cards for the Liberals in a Marginal Labor seat (Tea Tree Gully), the anti-ALP feel was very evident. Later that evening was quite comical Dr David Tonkin the Liberal Leader (another decent bloke) had probably already written his concession speech and was absolutely gob-smacked (speechless) when the computer correctly predicted he would win government.

On the other side in Victoria some years later Geoff Kennett managed to lose in defiance to the polls his government was non-consultative, arrogant and autocratic and probably deserved to lose, much like our current SA government.

Victoria and SA were both "stuffed" before Jeff in Vic. and John Olsen in SA took over.
They both did a good job of clearing up the debt the only way possible given the problems in state super finds as well as state banks.
[The privatisations were not just cost cutting, but, importantly, off-loading the unpayable superannuation liabilities as the super funds had been spent.]
However, I didn't like Jeff's arrogance any more than I liked Paul Keating's in the federal sphere, and I was happy to see them both go.
John Olsen on the other hand was a very pleasant man to talk to and he listened to others' ideas- and he poured a beer nicely. ;)
