Independent Weekly no more

I had stopped getting The Independent Weekly during the SA election campaign when they decided to put that Rick Phillips lunatic on the front cover and devote a two page spread interview with him and combined with Hendrik Gout's obviously partisan views (no surprises he now works for the Liberal Party) so had no idea the paper had shut up shop. I also had no idea they were selling less than 8,000 copies a week either. It used to be a decent paper a couple of years ago.

It seems the 'paper' is going to continue on through their daily Indaily email and Crikey publisher and former Sydney Morning Herald editor Eric Beecher is on the board:
