Special relationship with Bush and whatshisname??

Postby Leaping Lindner » Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:09 pm

After John Howard devoted a chapter of his memoirs to his special relationship with George Bush it seems that this relationship may have been a little one sided, after the "man of steel" gets 3 mentions in Bush's entire 500 page book.

I had a bit of a laugh when I first heard this. Howard was so desperate to be seen as a player he even thought he could influence the last US election when that cretin said a vote for Obama is a vote for terrorists.

From the US point of view Australia's significance is such that any mention of anything or anyone Australian, would have to be accidental.

I read a bit of his book in Big W recently...the way it was written reminded me a lot of the official Jehovah's Witness history book I read when I was a JW...

I would have been surprised if he got one mention in the book

Do you really think Australia is such a world power?

I lived in Berlin,Germany for two years in the early 1980s, the only time I ever saw Australia mentioned was when the Ash Wednesday fires in Feb 1983 happened, it was reported that Adelaide was ablaze in the news! Stirred up a few poms with rels here!

I must say Howard looks more like a leader than anyone in Parliament on either side at the moment.

I'd be surprised if Bush could even write his own name.
