Rule Changes

There has been lots of debate recently about changes to AFL rules, both positive and negative. Why have the SAAFL brought in some of these rules when there has been so much negative talk about them?
I've noticed a couple new rules this year including the quick kick out rule, and having 2 circles for the centre bounce ruck contest and they seem to have brought in the AFL interpretation of holding the ball. Not sure if there has been any more, but it makes you wonder how many more they will introduce.
In my opinion they should leave the rules alone, keep it as simple as possible!! We are not an elite competition with top class players and umpires, so why make the game more complicated!!!

Did they bring in the quick kick in rule? Because on our game on Saturday the quick kick in was not allowed.
Being a psuedo full forward its good to know as it will affect the time I got to set up our defensive zone on kick ins.
Does anyone know?

In A4 we're allowed to bring it in as soon as it's been signalled, don't have to wait for the flags.

the rule for kick in is in every grade
just in c grade you prob have club umpires who have not been to the meetings etc!
the rule is you do not have to wait for umpire but the same ball must be used
you cannot leave a ball near the goals to make it quicker
the ball being kicked is the one that needs to be returned to the field
hope that helps

in div c1 you don't need to wait for the flags, just the signal but the same ball must be used.
the amateur league did send around a missive that actually made sense earlier this year with the new hands in the back rule. basically states that unless its massive and the umpire is in the correct position don't call it. thought this showed uncommon common sense from the league.

Hehe Psuedo Full Forward = An A Grade cricketer posing as a Full Forward, but I kicked a bag on the weekend so maybe I might have shaken the psuedo tag!!
Thanks for the ruling boys.
