Judging by comments from certain members in this forum Barossa Districts would win .......... and by plenty .

Its amazing a club like Barossa Districts has collected a record amount of wooden spoons ( perhaps only topped by Port Elliott ) and they buy 1 premiership last year and guys are talking them up like there a power house club like Port Adelaide .

i hear barossa want you to come forward so they can make you their number one ticket holder
i think you would be better as a mascot

Great concept but a logistical nightmare.

One of the best ways to do it would be to get it done in the pre-season with the matches played as trials - maybe in a similar style to the Victorian Country Championships where four leagues play a round robin over their long weekend, but instead it's a pure knockout format.

Maybe four premier sides from the same/a nearby region play in a knockout over a weekend in March to get one regional winner to progress to the next stage.

The same thing could happen over the next weekend if need be and then on successive weekends until the season starts. Once the various seasons start, matches move to say a Tuesday night until the final is played.

Love the Idea but it would be hard to do unless all leagues cut their seasons down a few weeks to allow for games to be played, Which would make each league to short.

Would be great to see, but logistically a nighmare. Regions thing is a good idea, but you would have teams like Langhorne Creek, Uraidla, Mt Lofty in 'Central' and Portland, North Gambier in 'South' meeting in the first round, and to be entirely honest, these would probably be the best five in the state.

Anyway, goodluck finding a better alternative! One question, would clubs send their best sides? Think you need more than the premier sides from similar to the Victorian style "major leagues".

Just for the record, here is my top 8:

Quarter Finals: Langhorne Creek d Waikerie
North Gambier d Marble Range
Uraidla d Barossa Districts
Portland d Mt Lofty

Semi Finals: Langhorne Creek d North Gambier
Portland d Uraidla

Final:
Portland d Langhorne Creek (By less than a goal!)
