There has been alot of talk about how much money certain coaches are been paid in the Southern Football League. Just out of interest wanted to know what local coaches are being paid out there? Or how much clubs are wlling to part with in order to get a senior coach?

To kick things off
Rumour has it Tony Francis to Coach Brighton for $18000
And apparently when Donald Dickie coached Flagstaff Hill was being paid more than that.
Can't confirm any of that just rumours that I have seen on this chat site.

I'm just saying yes to your initial question. I wouldn't have any clue - but would imagine being in a high profile league close to town, they'd be doing alright.
Why you so curious anyways?

I am a coach actually but I'm up in QLD I'm wondering what coaches are getting down south. Coaching up here not all that lucrative only worth a couple thousand a season plus petrol money. By the way I don't work for the ATO but I am a Military Police Officer is that any better.

So therefore its irrelevant on what coaches get paid here then, as you can get what clubs are prepared to pay?

I don't think its such a big deal I was just wondering what coaches down there were getting in comparision with us coaches in the developing northern states. I don't see what so wrong about that I'm not asking to see anyones bank statements and nobody obliged to responsed to this thread obviously there is some interest out there or there wouldn't be so many responses to this forum.

Gary Peach used to say that paying players will ruin amateur footy and that the only people who should get paid are coaches. This may have been an ouzo inspired statement as I reckon that's what we paid him in. He is a very funny man when liquored up.

G'day Andy I think your pretty right actually paying players does ruin amateur and local/ counrty footy and makes for lop sided competitions between the have money and the have nots.
As I say though just trying to assess the difference in professionalism between a developing state such as Queensland and a football state like South Australia and I can't see the harm in that.
