I was interested in finding out who in the country football ranks still gets a game in the A grade at the ripe old age.
Heard Rocket Maynard just kept going and going, not sure how old he was when retiring, or is he still playing

Good question. I know Morphett Vale had a bloke aged 44 who was still playing A grade two or three years ago - and for a premiership side that's saying something.
Kersbrook would have a couple of blokes approaching 40 in my recollection...

Yep Kersbrook had Brett James and his bro in law Michael 'Chopper' Westley playing in the winning GF on Saturday at the ripe age of 39. Beefy is 2 months shy of his 40th B'Day.

Paris Fowden 41 according to the Courier, playing for Uraidla in the GF this week. Fair effort to still be playing Hills Central A Grade.

Rob Price played in Barmera's flag on the weekend and he's 42. won a flag in 92, 2002 & 2012. Not a bad effort to be still playing A Grade footy.

Just out of interest, what postion do these blokes play? Do they hide in a forward pocket or are they a defender/midfielder/key forward?

Pretty sure I saw him in the Oakbank hotel around the new year period and he looked in pretty good shape.
Mick Ryan - pretty sure that's his first name was still playing A grade recently for North Gambier in the very strong WBFL and he was 40 or 41.

Fred Zadow plays Full Back and I would say Webby would still have the occasional run on the ball.

Cheers BC and 200KW, it's amazing that these blokes are still contributing so much and not just hiding in a forward pocket and jagging a few goals a game. They must be very good footballers to still be doing it as most guys slow down once they hit their forties.
