Who are some of the funniest / best character bar managers that run the foooty clubs in your district or that you have had a beer with?

I hate Payneham/NU as a club but the fat guy behind the bar (manager) is an absolute scream. If you ever get the chance to call in for a beer you are gauranteed a laugh! . Does anyone know his name and background?

Nipper! Hasn't been around the club for long but has fast become a club institution.

Has owned a few pubs in his time, and I think he still owns the pub at Pt Elliott too.

How do you know him FC? Nipper who?

He is a champion bloke. I am sure some of his talk is BS but very good entertainment. I bet things have picked up at that club since his arrival.

The Port Elliott pub reference makes me wonder if this is Noel Duffield? Used to own the German Arms at Hahndorf. The racehorses would ring true in that case, Noel owned plenty in his time.

Nippers last name is Williams and his first name escapes me at the minute.

I have asked our club to approach him with an offer to run our bar. Seems a good business man also behind all his BS.

He is involved in a number of syndicates. I don't know alot about how fast they are, but i'm pretty sure they all had a big win on Balaklava Cup day when one of there horses won at long odds ($51 or something).

@ OL, he's a great bloke & a good charactor. Very funny when on the sauce & a great club charactor!!!

He is also the only man in the world born without an ass..

In a playing capacity in 2012 maybe... MBK has been approached for some sort of role this season, but haven't quite had the motivation to make it out there yet or start my 2013 pre season

If you speak to anyone around local footy these days (esp people that floated around the SFL in the 80s) and said you were from Plympton, invariably the first question you got was "is Slime stil the bar manager down there?"

Anyone with a nicname of "Slime" has to be an interesting character and that he is...
