Have sex and it is all over - that's the ole myth isn't it.

Its a respect thing, if you want you and your team to play well on a saturday you shouldn't be drinking on a friday night. I did the other week when we played a trial, I went out, didn't drink got a good night sleep played well on the saturday and it was all good. So I for one will not be drinking on friday night during the season if i'm playing the next day.

Finally, common sense prevails. Dark Knight you are the only post on this topic who is thinking from a team perspective and not a selfish "it works for me" point of view. All the "players" who say they've had huge nights on the booze and been brilliant the next day - like Grenville Deitrich always claims.. never fess up to all the shockers they played after being hung over and a liability to their team and club the next day. It's not rocket science fellas - prepare properly and give yourself the best chance to play at your best. If you can't get through a Friday night without alcohol for the sake of your team, then what kind of team player are you ???

lance armstrong has to glasses of wine the night before every big race and i think its fair to say it worked for him, and im not talking about getting tanked just a couple of quiet ones of a friday night after work. im all for it, as long as
as people stop after a half dozen or so.

You need to relax after work, watch Friday night footy and prepare the mind.
Saturday morning prepare the body with hydration of the H2O variety.
The Sat morning HJ works a treat aswell...

On a cold, wet saturday a few sips of port does not go astray at half time. Going out walking around town all friday night does the legs no good as does spending all day at the show.
In my experience....
1.Thursday night sessions are worse than a big session on friday.
2. Sleeping with an electric blanket turned on all night, absolutely drains you.
3. More groins are damaged having sex than playing footy.
4. If you have the flu, DO NOT Play. Every knock hurts 3 or 4 time more.
5. Climb trees.....have you ever seen a monkey with a bad back?
6. Remember, Coaches and club sponsors have eyes and ears every where so do not go out late on a Friday even if you are not drinking.
7. Everything in moderation.
