We stayed at the Paringa Footy Club, just out of Renmark. Nothing but a few houses, a Pub, general store, and the footy club. We put the publican's kids through College that weekend. But he drove us into Renmark and Berri in his bus and picked us up at stumps stopping at his pub for grog and smokes at about 4 in the morning. Great weekend. Also went to Mildura one year but the locals there don't like footy trips, one guy from another club staying at the same place got bottled on the first night, the lasting memories of about 30 stitches to the face.

Mildura is gold. We did it 2 years ago for $100 bucks a head staying at the Sunraysia Holiday Park. Just be careful with some locals in general, it has the highest crime rate head per capita out of any city/town in Victoria. Goes off at night!!

Yeah I had a missus from Mildura back 5-6 years ago and she was very easy on the eye. 1 thing I found both having lived in the town and with people I have met from there is that 99% of the time they are completely normal, nice people. Then they have this 1 % of the time where they just COMPLETELY SNAP. You end up thinking "Where the f**k did that come from"?. Never the less value for money the best footy trip you can go on. :-bd

We went there on cricket trip this year.
A couple of Polynesians decided to have a crack at us for no reason whatsoever.
Quite frightening actually.
I stood my ground though and they eventually backed off.
I've also heard of it happening before to others.

But, like LK said, great value for money and O'Malleys is an awesome pub.
The Irish girls behind the bar are fantastic!!!!

Anywhere with a few pubs is good. Kapunda, Burra, Clare, Wallaroo, Moonta, Mt Gambier, Pt Lincoln.

Soooooooooooooooooo, Central District Women's Footy Club has finally organised our footy trip... correction, 'I' organised it  Anyhoo, our destination will be...

VICTOR HARBOR :D ... sorry Hazbeen, but the Netty trips had nothing to do with my decision, lol

We are going in November, so i'm hoping the weather will be amazing by then *fingers crossed*

I was just wondering if there are any suggestions of things to do while there... other than sitting in a pub all day, haha. I dont expect we will do much more than sun bathe and sit in a pub, but incase there is anything to do whilst there i thought i'd ask.

... also, what's the best pub? 8) (considering i don't drink [usually] i'm willing to travel beyond Victor)

the crown in victor is the most popular, but if you want a relaxed day down by the river with top quality beers the steam exchange brewery is AMAZING!

Has anyone had any experience with those footy trip websites where they organise everything for you?
Are they legit or is it a waste of cash?

I think we go through footytrips.com They are really good. 2009 we went to Melbourne they organised the flights and and accommodation. In 2010 we went to Pt Lincoln. I dont think they had even organised a trip there before but they did a great job getting the accommodation and we told them we could organise our own bus. I am fairly sure we will go through them again. Its alot easier to only have to organise Cash and they can book everything as they Know the hotels that will allow footy trip bookings.

Are they cheaper than normal? Or do they just have a better knowledge of local accommodation?
