verbul slurs

can you compare calling someone a fat prick to calling someone a black prick??

personally I think they are as bad as each other!
all the person is doing is looking at a feature of a person and then using that to create a problem or put that player off his game!
most of the time the fat guy knows his fat so cops it!
why doesnt the bloke who knows he is black cop it, cause im positive he knows his skin colour!

I think it is unfair to catergorise what sort of slurs are acceptable!

either everything is fair game or it is all of limits

what are other peoples thoughts??

Are they simply that though?

I agree they can have a similar effect but they are very different. One is socially accepted (generally) and the other isnt.

I personally say yes!
some people exploit it since they know it will get more of a response!

One big difference. Fat bloke did it to himself. Therefore fair game. Cant choose who your parents are.

On a serious note.
I can see where you're coming from.
However, I don't think fat blokes have suffered for centuries and had the land for their favourite McDonald's taken from them. They've always been able to vote as to whether they prefer a Big Mac or Whopper and haven't been slaughtered for being a blight on their community, despite their heaviness.

I must admit though, it does stick in my craw when I'm called a "white c*nt", "cracker" or "redneck", as I'm certainly none of those.

I havent seen a show called Make the Black bloke white.

But there has been Biggest Loser.

Once can change, the other cant. With one exception but look what happened to him.

well that'd be me!!! although i'm not fat, just nuggety!!!

i can see both sides of the equation here, i'm not the blackest so i've never been racially slurred myself but i've seen (this year) an aboriginal bloke call an african bloke a black nasty name and he got upset too.

i don't see the point of getting all touchy and precious about it, if you're black then you're black so what. if someone tells you that you're black say well done, great observation retard, you're exactly the same just a different colour!!!
but on the other hand when it has venom attached to it, it generally means that person has a pure hatred or prejudice against the people he is naming and that's sad...

ultimately the rules aren't gonna change whether we like them or not, but racial slurring is a no-no...

fat people however are always gonna cop it, only because it makes everyone else feel better about themselves...

That was a cue for you nuggety goodness. From what i can remember you were never one to get too precious about any of that.

I think it really depends how it comes across. I play cricket with Indians and Sri Lankans, who are top blokes and get called Curry Muncher, Sexual Chocolate, Wig wom, Chucker among other things but they lap it up. Last year we had a couple lads from Yorkshire play at our club and when we first referred to them as this they went pale (paler than they already were), it must be taboo in the UK.

Horses for Courses I guess.
