A FOOTBALL club is under investigation after a stripper was hired to perform for the team minutes before a game.

In the latest sex drama to engulf the sporting world, Prahran has been ordered to appear before the Victorian Amateur Football Association's integrity sub-committee tonight to explain the sordid stunt.

The Herald Sun reports that the changeroom strip show angered women's lobby groups and is set to turn the spotlight on Aussie Rules after rugby league's week of shame.

Prahran Club XVIII coach Craig Berger said a former player organised the stripper to perform about 30 minutes before a night match against St Bernard's on May 1.

"One of the past players set it up to gee up some of the blokes who were struggling a bit, to stir them up a bit," he said.

Mr Berger said he first became aware of the stunt when the stripper came into the trainers' room.

"The stripper came in and I heard some noise (in the changeroom) and she was asking for music," Mr Berger said.

"I walked in, and when I realised what was going on I said, 'What's going on here?' and then left the room. They (the players) were fully aware that I wasn't happy about it."

The incident happened at Elsternwick Park, the VAFA's administrative headquarters.

I think it's hilarious. Way left of field, but unless there were minors present, it's a bit of a storm in a tea-cup.

I'm going to move this to the Regionals Forum BTW.

As long as no minors were present, the players involved agreed and the stripper was paid what happened is totally legal. Therefore, the womens lobbyist group can f**k off and worry about their own lives, and not tell others how to live theirs.

Well that's the thing, it was for an U18's match - at league headquarters no less!

Ahhh well that does change things. But only because I believe that makes it illegal, any other talk of it being disrespectful to women is just rubbish IMO.

Club 18 is not Under 18, that is like a social grade - probably the equivalent of the lower C grades.

Those sides don't get the overly serious (and therefore, younger) players - more the fossils (like me) who cannot commit to training (ie. will probably do a hammy in the warm-up lap!) and don't want to play Super Rules.

There is no issue with legality if there were no minors present as it doesn't constitute an illegal activity. The match being at Elsternwick Park is more of an issue - they should have confined it to a game at their own venue instead.

This may be one of the reasons the Vic amateurs knocked off the SAAFL crew last year. Maybe the Caddyshack gang should give this idea some thought, it might just work!

They struggled, but will strip fitter for the run.
