Do you really need blokes like that playing?

According to my records Felch, he did play in the GF side in 2000.

In 2004 (our crap year).he played 5 games with the club before he was cleared to Ovingham.. part of which was to do with him spitting the dummy because the A grade was struggling, he wouldn't play A grade and bitched and whinged when we tried to promote players from "his" C grade team.

I can count on 2 fingers the A grade games he played after the 2000 GF and he barely got a kick on those occasions from memory.

I will check with him when i see him on them facts but i was to believe he left with a few others because of the coach.Since then the club got a new coach and went forward, and klompy has gone onto win a shotload of flags so worked well for both, and coach couldnt been that good cos look at what youve done since. You are right bagman clarke was a gun for payneham. Also falconchick you said klompys c grade i dont ever recall him telling me he was coaching?

Then there was a big, tall, skinny ruckman/forward named Corey Noble, very gutsy player, great team man, top bloke...

Also, Mathew Paul (won D3 Medal I think) hap a great leap, good set of hands and could finsih off in fornt of goal.

Big Phil... :D :D :D

You have got to be kidding Big Phil, played against all 3 and none of them would have made a SANFL side.

Have to agree with you there Newman

It had nothing to do with our A grade coach at the time. What's your fax no Wattle? I have the game stats in front of me. I can give you as many facts as you like...

In 2004 we were almost goners after our previous president ran off with almost $30000 and then our A grade coach got sacked from the club before the season started. We were lucky enough to snag an A grade coach for that year and considering he took over about a week before the season started, with a depleted line up for the best part and not a cent to give anyone as incentives, we are still thankful to him for taking on a very hard task at a club that had almost folded.

Klompy leaving to go to Ovingham had nothing to do with the new A grade coach. For the record, he left with 1 other person, Jason Pohls. He wasn't the coach but pretty much what he said goes, and when that stopped he spat it and left...

I personally never had a problem with him, I thought he was a top bloke and his wife was really nice but attitude of living to play C grade did him no favours with PNU. Thats all.

back then I was around the club from time to time but as a kid running around watching my uncle play!

Scotty could easily have played SANFL and was asked to play with Westies. I can't remember the exact story but it had something to do with Doug Thomas declining to compensate Scott for the money he was losing by missing work or something like that and he told them to get stuffed.

Geoff Clarke was a goal machine, just missed out on a couple of SAFA medals too I believe. He was just winding down in the B grade when I started at PNU as an official. Him and Freddy Campbell like to boot a few goals..

Falcon chick i spoke with klompy today and he said he thinks he knows who you are and says hello,He said everyone is entitled to thier opinon. He also said as a former premiership player and 3xb&f winner hes got nothing bad to say about the club or its players.Asked who's coaching c grade in c2 this year,Ovingham vs Payneham round 1 in c2 said hes looking forward to having a kick at falcon park again. Is Mason and Gilbo going around again?

Mason and Giblo may strap on the boots, both of them recieved their life memberships last year.

C grade coach - err..not sure - Tell him its NOT Marty.

As I said, I thought Klompy was a nice bloke and I suppose that we should probably get both sides of the story but then they never match anyway.

All the best to him..

No mate, i didnt play in that team. That was 8 years ago, alot of water under the bridge since then. No-one still playing at Portland who played in that side. I was out at a city pub with a couple of old Portland lads before Xmas and we ran into Jamie Battams - he summed that year up pretty well. He reckons PNU had the better team that year, but we were more desperate to win. Spot on i reckon.

Things going along ok this year, good numbers on the track, but who knows how we will go.

By the way, i reckon our jumper is sh!t !!! :D

Agree with Todd Thorn he was a gun. Played a few years with him towards the end of his playing days. He was unreal.

Todd Thorne certainly was a cut above other big men in the APFL during his peak, I was his ruck understudy during the 90's at the Pies and can tell you competitive training nights were never much fun.

I have never seen thighs bigger than the ones owned by Todd Thorne. Hazbeen yours were a close 2nd. Im sure you'd agree that there is no better sight as a spectator than watching big men dominate games of footy, bothup forward kicking bags of goals, through the midfield ( i have seen him play centre before) and down back playin that kick behind play. He was a great player, whom could absolutely dominate a game of footy. I would have loved to have seen some stats as to how many marks he would take in a single match.
