Just going on what I know and hear around the place

Strongest leagues (in no particular order)
Western Border
Kowree Naracoorte
Riverland
Great Southern
Southern
Barossa
Hills
Yorke Peninsula
Spencer Gulf
River Murray

Weakest leagues (in no particular order)
KI
Roxby
Mid Murray
Riverland Independent
Far West
Hills Country

It would be interesting to have all leagues involved in an FA Cup style comp so we could really compare leagues

BL&G standard has dropped considerably from the games i have seen in the last 3 years . They havent won a Association game in a long time and some clubs such as Angaston , Freeling & Barossa Districts cant even field a full B grade side .

Was a strong league 10 - 15 years ago but the Adelaide Plains is now ahead in standard and numbers .

Once again Hafey you have your facts wrong

2004 BLG played the Hills comp. at Angaston
2005 BLG played the Hills comp at Woodside oval
2006 BLG played the Hills Comp at Gawler Centrals.

Try the APFL plays the YP comp. you dumb prick....................

Four Payers were selected from APFL Association side to represent the Central Side who went on to win country champsionship and Two out of the four were very prominent, Joel Wilson was i think third best player of the series with 9 Votes or there abouts and Brad Valentine was picked on the wing in the Country Team of the Year.

Both these players play for Hummocks Watchman Eagles in the APFL and represent the League any chance they get.

The point i'm trying to make is that The APFL is more country than the BLG and i would go so far as to say that if you were to take all imports out and played a rep side from both the BLG might be in trouble.

Hummocks who have Dominated the APFL in recent years would probably be top four in the BLg and that is with No Big Name imports!

So don't be so ignorant as to say that 2007 BLG Premiers Barossa who have spent Bucket Loads on players (i know because i've spoken with them) would beat a side that came Second in the APFL grand final by 25 goals, i think you should either say why you think so, or shut the hell up, you goose!!!

And for your information.

2000: Barossa and Light 33.26 (224) d YPFL 3.8 (26).

2001: YPFL 9.10 (64) d NEFL 8.8 (56).

2002: NAFA 13.21 (99) d YPFL 7.7 (49).

2003: YPFL 16.12 (108) d APFL 16.9 (105).

2004: APFL 17.9 (111) d YPFL 15.11 (101).

2005: APFL 15.11 (101) d YPFL 14.8 (92).

2006: APFL 20.13 (133) d YPFL 11.7 (73).

The Yorkes have decided not to go ahead with interleague comp because they struggle to get players interested. The APFL however will be looking to continue with another league. :P
There! that is the facts, do some research before you make stupid statements, if it is your opinon say so!!!!!! :x

Yes fair point eagles, but have seen alot of Hafey's recent posts and he just makes up untruths to either sledge the BLG comp or to muck rake about the 2006 premiers Barossa District. It seems to me the BLG comp was a bit hard for the failed back pocket from Port District............

BD if playing Balaklava would won, but 25 goals......no way.....

Barossa is still a lot better standard than Adelaide Plains. The APFL has improved over the past 5-6 years when the league almost folded but still a fair way behind.
They have a good record in association games over the past couple of years because the league has been suspending players if they don't make themselves available. Even a doctors certificate isn't good enough. As a result, most of their good players play while neighbouring leagues still let players work out if they want to play or not.
The Mid North Carnival is back on again on the June long weekend. See how they go against North Eastern and Northern Areas. They have always struggled with them.
We also got 2 players in the country team of the year. The best under 21 and the leading goalkicker. I suppose that makes us just good as Hummocks. Shame they never want to play us in a trial game. Perhaps we aren't far enough away for them.

To say that the EP leagues are the worst standard doesn't take into account how small some of the towns are, and the atmosphere and culture of sport there.

Thoughts on some of the leagues I've played in:
Hills Div 2 - not the strongest, but competitive esp amongst top teams. Meadows, Kanagrilla and TV have helped strengthened the standard. Standard can depend on teams moving up to div 1, eg in mid 90's when Birdwood, Echunga and Ironbank went up.

Mid West - Per capita the one of the strongest leagues in SA, 4000 people supplying 6 teams, with very few "outside" players from Lincoln or Ceduna or locals returning from Adelaide on a regular basis. Although, Western Districts fell away last year.

KNTFL - apart from the top couple of teams, overrated. We were 8-9 out if 12, but would have been comfortably beaten by the bottom team from mid west or yorke peninsula.

YPFL - good comp, with the advantage of being close to Adelaide for paid players and locals returning on weekends.

They are a unit.

Im not sure on the rest of the teams in Hills League but they are unit Mt Lofty.

In all Fairness. from the 3 leagues in Question.

BLG.
APFL.
YPFL.

Yorkes might have some special players running around, but if they Can't field a competitve Rep side this must count against them.
