When I was coaching junior colts in the Hills, there was a girl on our team, who had never played the game before. Picked it up extremely quickly and showed the boys a heck of a lot about heart and putting herself on the line, when other, older, supposedly "tough" boys squibbed out.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

When I was coaching U17's last season the young girls would be at training and would become bloody annoying with all the giggling and crap . Told em to 'piss off' and not come back. Training improved out of site. Great coaching move that...

I think there is a fair degree of difference between a 16 yr old girl and a mature female athlete.

I only ever trained with my women's team, sometimes Mr McSpaz and I would go one-on-one on the weekends but I never considered participating in his training. A lot of reasons for that:

1. I can't kick past 30m, and while I can cop a bit of a beating, if I get hit in the face I am probably going to cry. Which would be awkward. Once MM kicked the ball straight into my jaw and I said a whole lot of things to him I absolutely would not ever have said under any other circumstances.
2. It's his time with the boys, I don't want to interfere with that. Everyone needs their own space.
3. A few years back we had the Morphies C grade train at the same time as us, and they were f***ing annoying. Some of them would be pissed and they'd get so bloody sexist and superior.

That being said, I reckon there's definitely something in having the girls out to training. I'm all for anything that will promote the women's game. What valleys07 said, I agree with that 100%. Still, I'm not going to accompany Mr McSpaz out there any time soon.

It's all good fisho... the sexist jokes tend to end quite quickly once they realise you kick better than them

As long as the only problem i may be causing any of the boys is a few buised egos then i don't see the harm 8) They all know they can tell me to get lost... and those who are 'too bruised' to say it to my face will just tell el capitano, haha

I think it's only ok to train with the boys if it is being done to improve her footy for the sake of her footy career... not her love life, or any other reason unrelated to footy! Any team game play drills are out of bounds as far as i'm concerned.

Now lets all just get along and go kick the footy together :d

What are they doing out of the kitchen. Should not even be at training with food to be cooked and ironing to be done - maybe even mow the lawn. weeding and wash the car

My missus asked me if she could come out to training because she doesn't like the bitchiness of netball.
Once I finished laughing, I told her she couldn't but now I'm wondering whether that was entirely fair.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

let me put this to ya. Some of the WAGs at Haven I would have do the runs any training session during pre season. Because that would look great. running shorts and singlets, YES PLEASE! and chicks are pretty fit. Would you rather have a fit chick or a fat c grader running with ya. As soon a balls come out ( and I mean footys) girls need to bugger off as they have no place. But then again some grown men have no place on a field either.

If anyone is 'fishing' for a response... then you've hooked me line and sinker =D>

I'm not even going to bother explaining my situation anymore as it seems most people are more worried about perving on their team mates partners

I'm out at every Salisbury game, so if you see a girl in a trainers top kicking a pink footy around then please come up and say hi so we can sort, *cough* i mean 'kick' this out :d

Kicks.like.a.girl does have good legs, we seen her kick with both of them very well to the point where the guys were trying to work out if you are left or right footed? ;)

How weird is that. Terrible by the club to allow it, especially if its involving training drills.

Ultimately, what KLAG does with Salisbury FC is between her and the footy club. All the boys have a lot of respect for her and the way she approaches her footy, her skills are quality, she trains at a good intensity, and nobody looks at her any different when she does come out for a run.

The fact she's strapping ankles for us this year has also earnt her some extra points... ;)

i wouldn't think it a huge problem & i'll add it may make more blokes turn up for training rather than the old ''i'm working late'' or ''i haven't got a baby sitter'' etc etc
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

as a club we occasionally train with the netballers, just to break things up a bit and have a bit of fun. i can see baymans point in more blokes coming out and could imagine alot of the younger blokes heading out to trainign!
i havent spoken to the coach yet but my wife wants to come to our next training to do our 3 lap time trial just because she enjoys running. personally i think shes going to smash alot of the blokes on our team.
i dont haev a problem with sheilas training with the blokes we have a couple of weekday warriors who think theyre heros on the track that are useless, im sure a few women would show them up and put them in their place
