Darren Nenke was an All Australian school boy.

Is he still teaching at Trinity?

MP, there were a number of other top players at Salisbury in the same era as Barry Pilgrim - most of whom could have played league footy but opted to win 4 premierships in a row at Salisbury (68-71), one was Neville Thorp (League umpire).

Add to the list: Stephen Hay (North, 1980's), David Green (Central 1980's/1990's I think), Mick Walters (Central 1980's - about 10 minutes of the most explosive footy I have ever seen!), Ian Deraugo (Central 1980's), Mark Prior (Central A **** long time).

Like MP, I cannot remember them all.

The best player in the Hills fotball league is a toss up, it is either Marc Farmer from the hahndorf magpies because of his superior fitness and his agility an speed, he just used to get it and run, i love that in a player. Or Leon Maxwell for his brut strength around the packs, an his general antics after kicking a major

yeah ive seen some speedy characters in my time, but farmer would have to be up there...also brett "ankles" with his superior body mass and strength, particularly the strength he possesses in his ankle area...an outstanding footballer...but not so outstanding in the ladies department lets just say he isnt too easy on the eye

i wouldnt name those two players as hahndorfs best players in the club. leon was a very limited skilled footballer. he mainly ran around or through packs trying to take players out. the only thing you got right is his antics after a goal or a bad umpire decision. he was really only a good solid b grader when hahndorf was at full strength. that was when i played there from 1973 to 2000 and i was regular a grader from 1978 to 1990

Iv'e seen some crackin' players in my time, but none of them compare to the late david abernethy. Lightning off the mark, reads the play like a book, but he has long since departed from the club, and they have yet to find a replacment of his caliba

In all honesty of my years watching football at hahndorf, i wood say the best player wood be a toss up between three players, Randall Pearce, Matt Cooper, or Shane Grimm, Grimmy had a big frame and for the big game he was enormous for us, kicking 9 in the grand final in 2001 that takes some doing!!!!
