Once again theres a difference between biff and thuggery. Grabbing someones guernsey after a heated situation and throwing a couple of jumper punches is totally different to a bloke copping a raised elbow behind the play to the jaw or getting completely king hit whilst standing still. Need to be tougher on these pricks, mind you I do not see it as much as I saw it lets say 10 years ago even on the local grounds.

Probably should be in the True/False post but where is the "great man" Bubbula?

Now that Shrek is back too, it's only fair that the question be posed, where is he now???????

It's probably a bit late, but I would say retaliation isn't acceptable, but self-defence is.
If someone tries to deck you, and you duck and put in a shot yourself (or fling him or something), that's OK.
Are you gonna eat that?

Try being a tagging player, you get belted on a regular basis because the other bloke isn't getting much (on a good day any...) of the ball. If you retaliate every time you wouldn't be playing much footy coz you would be constantly suspended. You have to defend yourself to a certain extent sometimes but usually if the bloke is mad enough to belt you its a good sign coz you know he's only thinking about belting you and not thinking about getting the ball, therefore your job is done.
Cant say Im very good at seeing a team mate receiving a cheap shot and not getting involved especially when its a young player being hit by an old boy.

It is normally the retaliator who, whilst acting acting in self defence gets sprung, reported and suspended. Stupidity personified while trying to act tough!

so all in all what your opinion is, get belted around by filthy/dirty players and never defend yourself. fairs fair if your a tagger you get used to it but if its just a thug belting blokes I prefer get one of your bigger blokes to sort him out

from what Ive read on other forums, he has more then Bub to worry about. Just remember Aceman, everyone has right to an opinion but this definately does not mean it is always right. I think Bub was over opinionated though

A very strong tip NG, I don't miss him one bit.
However, after what he did to me when I eventually catch up with him, I certainly won't miss him.

now you've used two different tenses there Ace.

have you caught up with him? if so what did he do? if you haven't caught up with him then what is he going to do?

On saturday we played a team that one of our better players (won the MVP) from last year went to play for.

He missed a goal while i was chasing him and as he pulled up i was gonna give him a nudge and let him know about it, but he turned around to face me so i went in a bit harder than i should have. I collected him pretty hard and wouldve taken full responsibility if the umpire sent me off. Neither umpire was watching so as I rolled onto my stomach to get up the player in question king hit me in the back of the head. Luckily it didnt do any damage but it connect at the base of the skull and top of the spine. The umps didnt see it so not even a free kick was given.

I know what i did was wrong but you would think that someone can control themselves enough not to belt someone in the back of the head while they're face down on the ground.

This was in the 1st qtr and we met a fair few times during the game. I think i said the word "weak" about 20 times that day.

We had a chat after the game and all is cool. If he waited for me to turn around and belted me in the face I would be cool with it. Just thought what he did was one of the weakest things thats ever been done to me on the field.

So, until he turned around, you were going to 'nudge' him in the back....

Yeah i honestly was. I was aiming for my left shoulder to hit his right one but he turned around so we were both lined up so i went in that little bit harder. Like I said, I know what I did was very wrong, but if you consider that he couldve done some very very serious damage, I dont think anyone deserves that. I also said I would cop it if he belted me in the face because I had done the wrong thing.
