knee - degenerative wear and tear after years of footy and cricket
"the bird" finger L - dislocated, still not good
pinkie finger R - doesn't bend at the middle knuckle
bone in the hand - playing indoor cricket (metatarsal/metacarpal?)
A/C joint - first kick of the game came out of the centre, I headed back into the path of Munro the FF for Norwood Union who crunched me - end result, after 30 seconds of a game I was on my way to hospital.
shoulder - dislocated (drunk, taking on a wall)
ankle - several sprains and twists, still clicks
nose - at last count, 12 broken noses (and a reconstruction to boot)
elbow - hyperextended once
ribs - broke 2
stitches - several, mainly in the head
back - two broken vertebrae (only found when I went for a routine xray attending a chiro 5 years after I finished playing)
eye - sitting on the o-bahn, rock came thru the window smashing glass all over me.
concussion - several
I'm 36, my knee is jiggered and I really wanna play next year. Taking a look at this list (attributable to footy) - why would anyone bother? (I must admit, I loved my playing days!)
Silly part is, when i was young, I never wore a mouthguard playing footy, nor a box playing cricket. I spose in those days I trusted my eyes. Not now.
