He's probably laughing at the fact that you played for Smithfield.

I was laughing at myself for playing for them. I blame Matty Purcell, he told me they were a good club. I was young and dumb, little did i know of the greatness 2 sets of traffic lights down.

From the top of my head, Salisbury has produced...

AFL:
Stuart Dew (Port)
Anthony Ingerson (Melbourne)

SANFL:
Roger Girdham (Central)
Brad Currie (Central)
Steven Eichner (Port)
Mark Demasi (South)

I can't remember other photos in the club, I'm sure Magpiespower can help me out here...

Pag - I woulda thought there'd be a few year.

Jo and Damien Hicks played for Salisbury didn't they?

And surely there's more than two with an AFL background.

I think Matty may be captain of their A grade now. Very good player, i was trying to convince him to come over to us, but he's happy with the units.

i remember that day well he kicked about 26.8 i think and i'm sure he had his 7 year old's shorts on ! i also remember the guy he stood bryce norton his name was yeah 26 is a fair effort but when your team kicks about 56 goals your full forward should kick 26 . i still see john he come's in to my work something to do with the commenwealth bank i dont remind him and from what i hear he doesnt need to be remindered either . was a very good player tho.

Not really carey, We kicked 70.30, Full forward Trent Grennsheilds kicked 13, Ben Halliday kicked 9. And the rest were less than 7 goals. Only 2 didnt kick a goal. One was injured early and 1 was rightly humiliated that night. That boy was Daniel Paradiso. He hit the post 3 times

Duncs when the Eags beat Ovingham by 60 goals in 1995 - all 21 players kicked a goal and Darren Ellis had the most with 12 - and that was at half time!

I dobbed two that day.

Yep.

Drawing a blank here at the moment, Pag, but there's also...

Jarrod Cotton (take your pick)
Barry Pilgrim (Port)
Mark Clayton (Port)
Craig Cotter (Central/West)
Brenton Daniel (Central)
Gary Ellis (Central)

Going waaaay back, I believe the Dayman brothers - 'Bro' and Clem - came from Salisbury.

They starred for Port back in the 1920s, especially 'Bro.'

Darren Nenke was one of those kids who looked to have the footy world at his feet until injury cruelled his career.

There's heaps more (listed on the club's honour board) that I can't quite remember at the moment.

Of course, our most famous player never played league footy...
