That's a shame, they still sing some ditty penned by some Broady fella to this day.
Speaking of rank songs, heard the year 8's belt out the Blackfriars song last Satdy morning, that's pretty ordinary. Do the Old Scholars use that one?

hearts to hearts and hands to hands
beneath the black and blue we stand
we should god bless our native land
BLACKFRIARS BLACKFRIARS

out we come out we come out we come to play
just for rectreation sakes to pass the time away
lots of fun heaps of fun enjoy yourselfs today
blackfriars boys are hard to beat when they come out to play

sooooo join in the chorus and sing it one and all
join in the chorus the hounds are on the ball
good old blackfriars were champions youll agree
blackfriars will be premiers just you wait and see

Going back 16 years or so i was the boundry umpire for Modbury FC in the C grade from memory song the went something like this, (not sure if it has changed or not.)

Whooo are? Whooo are? Whooo are we?
Weee are Weee are MFC
The dickheads are tall
But Hawkes are small
If you're not a Hawke
You're no good at all
(and then followed by the Roo chacha thing)

Nah Modbury's become the Centrals/Westies/Hawthorn song, "We're a winning team at Modbury....".

That other version ain't all that bad though.

Never fear, to the premiership this year
We are the boys from the mighty shoe.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall
They havent got a chance when we play our football.
We are great you can tell, victorious at the bell
We are the boys from the mighty shoes!

Up the shoes!!!

It is sung to the tune of " Road to Gundagai " by Slim Dusty

As is "We are the Lions, of Fitzroy"- Fitzroy (SAAAFL) obviously!
