Undefeated premiers of last year and won 90% of games very easily and also the grand final (against the side that won the previous two years) by 12 goal. Very Very classy outfit - And I don't even support them

Just because these country sides win x amount of flags doesnt make them great sides. The opposition are a joke. Winning by 20 goals most weeks says more about who you are playing than the greatness of the side. Im all for Div 1 / 2 who play against decent sides week in week out.

I am not saying that they played against bad sides, yes probably the bottom two sides struggled this year but still think that these bottom sides could have gone to any other country assoc and been very competative. Tanunda played some really good sides last year and were able to excel, lets get our heads out of the sand and not think Div 1 and 2 are it. Big call but Tanunda would have played finals footy in Div 1

Ha ha ha, I saw the BLGL grand final and there is no way they would have made the finals in div 1.

I think the u23 state game vs the open SFL team was a pretty good indication of the difference in standard of div 1 teams versus country league teams. The end margin was around 14 goals, and should have been a lot more. I think that the top ten would be dominated by div 1 teams, no question.

Yehh fair enough call but i believe that the 2 teams have different motivations, the saafl team i think correct me if im wrong play in that team as apart of selection 4 the u23 state team where as the sfl team is whoever rocks up to association training, theres not much for them to play for and the sfl only trains something like twice and play once together. The difference between the leaugues is alot of players go to saafl div 1 to play at the highest standard league which it is and sfl is alot of locals which have also been depleted by neighbouring high paying leagues ie gsfl, hills etc. Hence the league isnt as good as saafl, but this is not to say the top teams from other leagues couldnt be in the top ten in the state. DONT just think about the leagues but the teams.

also with association matches saafl get usually 3 divisions to choose from, also top 2 teams in country leauges are far more dominate in there league then a div 1 club.

Sorry last post didn't make much sense. In Hills Central they don't dominate the league.

We are not ranking leagues here, we are ranking teams. The top divs in amateurs will always be the best leagues due to the relegation system but that doesn't mean that Morphett Vale or Cove wouldn't be competitive sides in Div 1.

Can someone post the Goodwood or Cove or (who ever) premiership sides so that we can see how they would line up against each other? Would probably generate some interesting debate.

It's a trail asert, wish people would stop comparing teams after trials, because neither teams would be close to full strength.
