Outside of playing at home (golden grove) i really enjoy the surface at adelaide uni oval. St.Peters main oval is great as well.

I dont mind the gully or modbury. Got to frequent those grounds as junior so came to enjoy them. Especially as it meant a good close game as well.

Ive had the priveledge of playing adelaide oval and footy park as well. Hard to top that.

News from Golden Grove is that the club room construction has begun. Carpark is happening now with change rooms and bar/canteen (before the two storey job gets up) will begin next within a week (i pray). Expect the second oval to be seeded within weeks as well. This will be left to settle next year and first game on it will be 2010. This one wont have a cricket pitch on it so it will be good all year round. The drainage problem from last year has been fixed as well. Means to outer wing wont stay that wet in winter.

As for anyone deciding to bag why you can only see the game from one side....feel free to stand in the creek running near the outerside lol. Once the second oval gets in there will be good access between the two. Exciting times.

I believe they have some sort of special exemption due to the Camden gift.

Played cricket there this year and thats what the Glenelg lads seemed to think.

Wrost Ground I've played on is Eastern Park followed by Ingle farm.

has payneham got their drainage improved over the past couple of years? remember playing a few years back in the wet and the whole oval was like playing on TTG's turf pitch

I drove past Long Plains oval the other day, given its location and the drought we are in, you'd think it would be a patch of bare dirt with a few dead sprouts, shaped like a footy oval!! Not the case, it's still like a bowling green!!!

that would be one of the best ovals in the APFL,then again the only oval i consider crap in the APFL is both of hummocks ovals, shockers they are. long plains would host more grand finals if it wasnt for the lack of space they have

The APFL now has a three year rotation for the GF between Long Plains, Balaklava and Mallala.

im still surprised they dont give two wells a go. they have a decent oval (weather u agree witht that is another thing) but they are one fo the few clube that have massive space for it, could fit more cars then mallala and longies easy. played two grand finals on long plains and could not get a park there and this was only at 9.30 back in 05 and had to park in the paddock in 01.

Yeah, it was upgraded at the beginning of last season, shame it hasn't rained to see if it's worked  Hey, as long as you stay away from the outer wing and the pocket closest to PNU's bench going up to the interchange, the rest is fine  8-[

Yep. Accomodate juniors and hopefully allow to have c-grade and a-grade/b-grade home games coincide. D-grade within the next year or two as well hopefully

the worst ground i've played on is Hope Valley probably followed by Fitzroy and Gaza.

Hope Valley = long grass, sh1t grass, un-even surface and terrible atmosphere.

Fitzroy = very un-even surface, massive hill in the middle and terrible atmosphere.

Gaza = sh1tty old race track around it, un-even surface, long grass and sh1t grass.

I'd say Eastern Park and Ingle Farm would be about the worst. Hope Valley isn't too flash either

Tell you what there is alot worse than Fitzroy and Ingle Farm around. North Pines is a sh1t hole with the dog box for a change room and i recomend if your partners pregnant you don't take her there with the power lines next to the oval.Your kid will be born with a haircut like some of their A graders.
Whats wrong with the atmosphere at Hope Valley?? Its in tight and the cars are next to the ground. Whilst i'll say the surface is ordinary and its the size of a 5c peice there is not much else to complain about.
Port Districts is a great ground and I still love our home patch at Kenilworth.
