Football Club Emblems you have seen at a football club.

I played for two that were different;

1. Coober Pedy - The Deternators
2. Nhulunbuy - The Walkabout Chooks (yes the Chooks not the Roosters)

Couple of good emblems in Darwin - The Darwin Buffalos and the Southern District Crocs

A different knickname was down in the KNTFL - played against Mundulla who were known as the Moots.

and Mount Burr down that way were known as the Mozzies.

I was up there in 1989/1990, worked in the bank up there, great part of the country up in Gove

What colour were the "moots" guernseys, were they woollen?

They are the tigers, hawthorn guernseys but black and gold, they were a powerhouse when I played down there....given how old I am most gurenseys were wollen back then.

What colour were the "moots" guernseys, were they woollen?

Black with a Gold Sash, the name comes from the Moot-Yang-Gunya swamp which is near the town

despite being well known, the (North Adelaide) Roosters is probably one of the more original ones....

They've had a couple of very original names over cthe years:

Pre North Adelaide, when it was Medindie FC, they were the Dingoes

Prior to being the Roosters (mid/late '60's?) North were reffered to as Cock 'o' The North

Eltham in the Melbourne amateurs are known as the "turtles". Its worth having a look at their website its quite funny. The best part is their song. Sung to the tune of "Oh we're from tigerland". Rather than yellow and black they say shells on our back.

the River Murray association team are known as the Cods, one of the only rep teams i know of to have an 'emblem'

Willaston Donnybrooks

I played for the Willaston Donnybrooks (red and blue in Melbourne style when I was there in the 90's)
and the Glencoe Murphies (maroon with gold V) named after the local Irish spud farmers I believe.

Played against the Roseworthy College Pink Panthers (APFL) who were balck with a pink sash
and in the MSEFL there is/was the Tarpeena Canaries, Mt Burr Mossies and Tantanoola Tigers who wore Red with a white V as the black and gold was taken by the Kongarong Hawks.

I think some of the names on there are the "unofficial" nicknames as well, Morphettville Park were also listed as the Twisties, an unofficial nickname they were given.
