Jason Borgas

Had a look at Sturt v Southern Districts at Price Memorial Oval on the weekend. The Southerners were 0/150 before Shaun Deitz was dismissed, then the Blues dismissed them for 251. Shaun Tait took 5 poles and Cullen Bailey 2. Tait looks terrific, he's lost weight, and modified his action to prevent future injuries, and on a flat track still bowled with plenty of fire.

Jason Borgas, left handed brother of Cameron, made an undefeated score of 200 on the 2nd day, and Sturt cruised home makng just under 400 for the loss of 4 wickets. Jason's score of 200 n.o. is a club record as the highest ever "A" Grade score for Sturt. Previous highest was 199 made by noted Test wicketkeeper, league footballer and politician Gil Langley.

Great stuff Jason, hopefully we will see both Borgas brothers in the Pura Cup team before too long.

I think Borat will know, Fatal - he is a "good mate" of the Borgases.

By the way, Jason Borgas played in the State 2nd XI game this week and made 21 and 16.

Here is the scorecard.

Borgas Snr?

With the added pressure of a Joker, Steve 'star' Borgas of Burra prepares to begin 'Space Race'. His team captain's expectation of a 38 second time was viewed as optimistic. Competitors must run three laps around the planet's ring, collecing a small ring for each lap. The planet is rotated 'on its axis' by an opposition team in the opposite direction to the competitor's running. At the completion of the third lap, the competitor must climb the planet (particularly hard in the wet) and plant their state's flag.
