Nothing. Given Pete is a one man band on PlayHQ guessing it'll be over the weekend.

Makes you wonder what value Jonesy brings now MyCricket is defunct.
Grades are all but set but ya never know!.
Schedule should be done and released by the end of the weekend.
It is a new complicated system to set up an association on and poor Pete has been given so many grenades trying to schedule all this.

Three 2&1 Hybrid grades (Grade 1/2 - 6 teams - 5&10)- Grade 3- 8 teams - 7&7)

Seven 1 day grades - all 8 teams except bottom 2 - 21 rounds

Richo_37 wrote:Thought I would share my thoughts on the format

- Two day cricket appears to have enough support from the larger clubs to always remain as the premium format
- Most of the feedback I have received is that the 6 team divisions has been an improvement
- The Lo grades do not favour clubs genuinely developing younger players in C, D and E grades
- Some have the view that the season is too long and overlaps too much with other sporting codes
- There were only 16 clubs with an A grade playing 2 day format this season

What I would propose
1. Two day cricket is retained as the premium format, however only grades 1 and 2 include this format
2. Grades 3 and down only play one day format
3. Under current 6 team format the season is shortened to 15 weeks in the minor round and 2 weeks finals
4. Test match, Australia day weekend and Adelaide Cup weekends are non playing weekends
5. Clubs are either nominated two day clubs, aspirational two day clubs or only one day clubs
6. There is an annual application process for aspirational clubs to be accepted as two day clubs, at which point season duration is reviewed
7. Ultimate goal is for 8 team two day competitions with grade 1 and 2 extending beyond the season duration of other grades
8. Potentially a reserves two day competition in future sitting at grade 3 containing only B grade sides from grade 1 and 2

A couple of these have come true by default

All the fixtures were finalised over the weekend.

Theres a bit of an issue in LO6 with ground availability, there are a few ovals not ready for a few weeks. Pete will contact those clubs to discuss options.

Dont know the names of whose involved but looking at the logo its identical to the Andrews Farm Soccer Club logo and their playing at the same ground so obviously its an off shoot of the soccer club.

Knowing a fair few of the soccer players there....went to school with many of them i've never know any of them to play cricket so surprised their starting as high as LO4 unless they have a recruit or two.

In soccer there a solid club but have been in the lower grades of the Sunday comp for a fair while now.

I've heard it's some former Craigmore CC players.

LO4 is probably the equivalent of under 13's.

Yeah that would make sense if a few have moved from another club because looking at their A grade and B Grade soccer teams there isn't many guys that have played competitive cricket amongst them.

Andrews Farm Soccer Club seem to be pretty ambitious albeit they haven't really had the talent to move up through the grades. They were started a bunch of disgruntled c graders, ok b graders from other clubs who formed it. They have been across from the Karri for about five years or so now so have established themselves there.

Could easily see it being a bit of a pop up club though if they cant attract some 'cricketers' from Andrews Farm/Munno Para West area.

Putting the dots together could it be the lower level craigmore guys who came across from the old Elizabeth East side which was also formerly guys from the Playford Cricket Club based at the Kalari ground.

Quick look on SAASL and two of them play soccer for Andrews Farm now so that would be the connection. I played junior cricket with one of them and he never went on to play senior cricket. if his behaviour in soccer is anything to go buy his $1.01 that you will hear of him by the end of the year.

Damn they might have to pull out their N grade.

Drove past there on Sunday returning from the city and they had bloody good numbers at training. Is it 3 nets........they all had people going at it plus at least another 25 standing at the back pretending to field the balls hit out.

They have a rolling training session, even during the warmer months on a weeknight, they'll start at not long after 4 and go til nearly 8, players do their couple of hours and disperse. There's always at least 4 or 5 bowlers per net and it all runs pretty smoothly, the young lads tend to bowl from the start til the end.

Looking forward to seeing the team lists, hopefully all the two day sides have their shit sorted by the morning.

I know 8 team divisions are preferred but an uneducated guess is that there will only be one cakewalk out of the top 3 grades.

I currently have 21 players for Sat.. annoys me more people cant have the decency to spend 10sec to send a text, answer a poll or survey or whatever to advise their availability.. supposed to just be a mind reader.

Prob one bad day away from dropping everything and sailing off into the sunset.
