blca has a social media policy in place after incidents on facebook this year. Maybe something PDCA will have to look at as well to cover everything.

I do see one club in particular goes berserk on facebook wonder if they were involved.

PDCA do have a social media policy - hence the suspension

5 years is excessive and I know first hand the pdca tribunal can be a lottery, can definatly understand the blokes frustration with the deciscion especially after I was part of the Marty Ryan case a couple of years ago

BUT

The person in question is extremly lucky they don't have a law suit dropped on their arse (to which in my knowledge they would have no defence to save them in this case) work in an environment where kids are always present (same as the suspended player if I'm told correctly) and if someone puts my character at jeporady on a public forum which could affect my proffesional life I would be going a lot further both through the courts and with the fists.

At the end of the day you say it face to face and maybe 15 people would have heard, you put it on the net and hundreds or thousands could read it.

What did he write?

Called someone a kiddy fiddler.

Is it true?

Suspended player works in the construction industry.

Unfortunately that doesn't the fact a person had been defamed, all that would do is the persons mates in shit as they would have to give up the names of friends that were with them at the time, or the police would just have an IT specialist find out the IP address of where the post came from.

Let's get serious here. Some bloke is upset about a suspension and an incident in the game which leads to omething ridiculous getting written on facebook.

It is clearly nowhere near the sort of offence that should lead to a 5 year suspension!

Agree and like I said the 5 year suspension Is excessive

In saying that though if you went off at umpire on the field calling him a kiddy fiddler what be the suspension especially considering only 20-40 people would hear rather than the hundred - thousands that could read it on Facebook

Realistically the five years is probably for stupidity, it's one the dumber acts by a cricketer I have heard of

I think even the culprit would say it was a stupid thing to do.

Rubbing people out for a year or more should only be reserved for people who do things with real malicious intent, not just posting something stupid on facebook.

Extreme id say, I got called every name imagineable, water off a ducks back, even the missus who comes to watch and does not say Boo too anyone was subjected to name calling by a certain team, I heard what was said about her but couldn't quite pick who it was, lucky for him or else he would be eating soup for the rest of his life..

Alot of people keep saying the I have been called billions of names on the field

So I have but imho there is a massive difference between an onfield sledge infront of 20 people compared to an online post that is there to be viewed by thousands of people.

That's the problem with Facebook is when you post something you wouldn't ordinarily say to someone's face you have a much larger audience and the evidence is there for everyone to see

That's why I don't have facebook

Calling someone a ped is pretty low. That stuff stains, even if it was pulled out of thin air.

What club is the player from. Wouldn't be ATCO, Rose and Crown, they run the association and player would've gotten off with slap in the fave

Salisbury North I believe, you are right though, if he played for Rosies he would have got off, I have lost count of the number of times we have called people Pedos on social media and been allowed to play the next week.
Its like the old saying "Not what you know"

Oh, did I mention that you are a dipshit
