I think this is the culmination of some strongly worded correspondence between a couple of clubs during the off season. Rather childish behaviour on some individuals behalf.

Yeah, I can see it having the opposite effect.
Instead of standing around having a beer or two, where only some might be bought from the home club, now away teams will just pack up straight after the game and head back to their own presentations.

Clubs with bars need to make it more attractive for players to purchase from them, not try and legislate ways to rip them off.
Why would a 60c can of coke cost $3 at a community club?

Yep if you are buying it for that price there is no need to sell it more than $2.

Beers shouldn't be above $5 either unless it's boutique or imported.

Exactly.

Absolutely no overheads involved whatsoever.

This rule has certainly annoyed a few people at Pooraka.

Our A Grade always take a carton to an away match. They have a drink in the change rooms, then go into the home teams club room and have drink.
Not been allowed to have a beer in the change rooms isn't going to result in them spending more over the bar.
Instead of having 1 - 2 in the change rooms then 1 in the club rooms, now they will just have 1 in the clubrooms then leave.

Im not sure why you would be annoyed, its still allowed provided you contact the home clubs cricket coordinator or equivalent and get permission, if they feel strobgly against dont do it.

You may think its harmless and we always go for a drink but as such they may think its rude and its there club.

By looking at a majority of the scores over the weekend, I'd suggest some pretty flat decks around.

Brad Batten dominated C grade and made a lazy 200 for pooraka top bloke not sure if he used his bat or his nose to score all the runs :)

An amazing finish to the B2 match between Pooraka and Para Hills yesterday.
Para Hills were 6/153 needing 158 to win with plenty of overs left, lost 4/2 to be all out 155.

Credit to the Para Hills blokes, gave an LBW and a run out in those final 4 wickets.

Seriously. Is this another case of ATCA umpires wanting to be noticed or was Coops off getting a feed of KFC and didn't get back in time. Tigerpie can tell us what happened?

He got to the ground as the 8th wicket fell at 2.00 pm. and was never going to get changed into his whites and on the ground in 2 minutes. they were one short all day as well.
They didn't look interested in this game at all!
