Looks like the umps are better off going to ASCA judging by those payments. $90/day for 2 day games and $100 for a one dayer in ASCA from memory.....

Even better pay in the Torrens Valley CA. $110 per day. Does require occasional travel to the likes of Cambrai, Eden Valley and Palmer though ;)

Like most comps TVCA badly needs some more umps.

That works out at around $7.15 per hour to get abused by lunatics that think every time the ball hits the pads it's out, good luck!

Works out more than $7.15 geezer

Level 1 cricket coaching course also includes a umpires course, very basic but I bet half the umpires have not done a course as most know best anyway!

70 overs for a 2 dayer and 80 overs for a one dayer

65 for 2-dayers (unless everyone bowls off short runs all day and you get a few more overs in)

What hours are the two-dayers, in the pdca, we bowl 70 and then call stumps, generally 1 til 5:15 or thereabouts.

1 til 5:15 officially with 15 minutes for tea so 4 hours of play to bowl 65 overs (which often doesn't happen, especially as teams often stuff around too long at drinks breaks).

You guys would be doing well to get 70 overs bowled in 4 hours, or maybe there just aren't any fast bowlers in PDCA? :)

We've got one lad who comes in from the boundary nearly and bowls around 20 overs in a day and we still shit it in. Not many clubs take much longer either, the lower grades struggle to get 65 in 5 overs half the time though.
