Word is there will be Kilburn sides this year, one in LOD after promotion from making the GF in LOE (although were the only club to go up) and one in C2. The A3 side that was relegated has been removed and the B3 side that finished bottom moved to C2. LOD appears like there planning on Friday nights again. Although getting players back out and attracting new ones is there only concern ( or at least it should be ). Dunno yet if i will be back out there, if I am ill have more info if not then ill probably still get more info lol

So effectivly your top side has gone from A3 to C2, should be an interesting change in standard!
Would expect you boys to win that comp by a mile.
Your LOD side should be quite strong too with the combination of the grand finalists and your B3 side.

I dont expect many of the A3 side to remain, a few are already seeking clearances. Maybe at best we will keep 2. The B3 side may offer up 2 players as well but the rest last year were bad enough to deal with and Im positive the club wont be keeping some of them around either. LOD will more then likely be made up of the same grand final team I captained last year. The C2 side will be a work in progress but If I get involved I have some decent players who want to come out and help rebuild the club to a decent standard. Its a see what happens time lol

Dates have been relased, fixture will come later as people have suggested.

Doesn't the Adelaide Test start on Tuesday which means we are playing on Day 5. No big deal is it?

Depends who you are and how and when you like to watch the Test Match. Lots of guys want to have a few sherbets but training rules that out Tues and Thurs if there is a game on Sat, the game in itself should mean that most blokes are taking it easy on Friday night (in a perfect world) and Saturday is certainly out. Really only leaves the holiday Wednesday to enjoy a big day/night out. That may seem like plenty for some - and I don't necessarily blame SACA/ATCA for programming the way they have this year - but a lot of people like to make the most of their membership and the single Test match per year and the way the Test match has been programmed this year will have some people a bit annoyed I would imagine.

I'm not sure any more lol, been cut out of the picture there since i stepped down and now they have put two new blokes in charge, senior blokes from yester year. But problem is they have no access to any players and once they establish themselves on mycricket etc, none of the players will no who they are when they contact them. I've been told they will come to me for the players, but there in lies a problem itself, the advantage of a Friday night team is most of the list who are staying were only available on a Friday night basis, and others just not good enough for the step up. These are also the players they dont want back, they are after people committed to the club and playing were they are put, which is fair enough and a good policy, but 20 or so they expect back out by word of mouth will not be available other then occasional Saturdays.

Maybe they have footballers interested in playing there this year, quite a few play in the PDCA and refused to play at Kilburn last year. The one who did cross left after one game after he got carted on turf when he was used to being quick and bouncy on hard decks in grade 3. I am going down there next week to discuss cricket and see were it stands. What players they have, when the games are etc. So see what happens,

The key to fixing that club is finding a core group of players interested in taking the club forward and supporting the club through sticking around and drinking at the bar, having functions and all the usual to keep them in a steady financial position during cricket. Similar to what they have done with footy it needs an image rebuild and a good change of players to start that process. starting in C2 again is part of this I gather. To regroup and rebuild rather then put a B1 side in to get flogged each week.

On the same note it is the players who Dont drink or stay out late mostly in part to there beliefs who would want to come back and play. But the club is also hoping for more players who like a drink and a late night so they can take in some bar money. Getting new players then to me would rely heavily on footballers as who they have in stated as coach which is Keiran Martin wont know a lot of players to bring out to the club.

That is what I assume for now, after next week I should know exactly what the thinking is there and weather I will be involved again, or just playing or possibly neither

Wish you well N-R, it is never great to see a proud old club like Kilburn, in both footy and cricket fall so quickly from the higher levels that they played.

Hi ATCA,

Brahma started training last night and are very keen to enter the next phase of the Brahma Lodge CC evolution. We have been accepted into A3, B3, C3 and LOD for those who didn't know.

Good luck and best wishes for the year ahead.
