With the fixture now released and the A Grade back to 8 teams it should be an intriguing season. Noarlunga not the environment for everyone... the Garrards might not be the only ones looking for a sea change. Can Compass pick up the Garrards? Would be a massive step for their club after the loss of a couple. Bays without Moules and Simmons hopefully means the resurgence of local legend Jake Grenfell with both bat and ball!!!

Only a week out and its all quiet on the western front... lots of rumours about player movements but not much official yet.

Tucker to McLaren a big one... Another big loss for Mt Compass with Hicks out also.

Noarlunga seemed to have picked up a couple but will they lose Garrards? Carlyle? Baldey? If hold all they will be very strong... and probably the team to beat.

Only time will tell...

WIllunga active on the recruiting front, Scott Brown returning is a big boost. Goolwa picking up a couple of handy ins?

Seems like the Garrards are staying and could be in for big seasons. Baldey gone from all reports

The Australian Cricketer's Association (ACA) is coming to Strathalbyn on February 11th and 12th for a festival of cricket. Former Australian test legends Jason Gillespie, Greg Matthews, Shaun Tait and Wayne Phillips along with Adelaide Strikers star Ben Laughlin and Redbacks Mark Cosgrove and Dan Cullen will all be here for the following events:

On Sunday the 12th Feb there is a kids coaching clinic from 12 noon to 1.30pm at Strathalbyn Oval followed at 2pm by an exhibition 20/20 match with the Australian Cricketers Association greats taking on the local representative team. Entry to the coaching clinics and the match is a gold coin donation at the gate.

From what I heard they were lucky to make it... Couldn't believe every other team managed to complete there game but Noarlunga vs Willunga didn't even have a ball bowled on the Sunday. I would have been ropable if I was Willunga.

SB whats the likelihood of keeping the premiership team together for another crack? The likes of McCard, Trappas, Robertson, Kuss all sticking around? Is this the beginning of another Ebay dominate like era...

JR talking with the lads they are very keen for another season with all on board and a couple of A grade ins . As for a Ebay dominate era I have little knowledge of the GSCA prior to our entry but would say NCC have been very dominate and prior very dominate in the SCA . Great lads and a great club

Christies Beach and Seaford Districts Cricket Club...have they been accepted into the GSCA ?

Seaford have been in the competition for a few years now, I'm lead to believe it's a name change, not sure on the reasons. As far as I'm aware, Pt Noarlunga haven't shown any interest in joining the GSCA.

The Ashbourne Hall Committee and Ashbourne Cricket Club have put forward a joint project in the $40 Million Fund My Neighbourhood program to upgrade the facilities at Ashbourne Oval that will support the Ashbourne Cricket Club and a wide range of other community organisations and groups, including the school, within the Ashbourne Community and surrounding districts.

Ashbourne Oval is is a dedicated cricket oval and whilst it sits in picturesque surrounds with turf pitches and a wonderfully grassed field, our clubroom facilities leave a lot to be desired, in fact, we currently have none.

The proposed project would see the existing hall extended to create a covered indoor/outdoor dining area and servery, overlooking the cricket ground to provide facilities for use by the whole community, and importantly for us, clubhouse facilities for the Cricket Club. This is therefore a very important project for the development and future of the Ashbourne Cricket Club. See attached image of the current dilapidated 3m x 3m facility that we use as our clubhouse facilities. Anyone who has played at Ashbourne in the last 25 years would confirm that improved facilities are required.

We would be extremely grateful if you could promote this to your clubs and associations so that in the spirit of cricket, they can give us the much needed support we require to secure the funding for the project and improve our facilities.

Noarlunga appear to have strengthened their batting line up. My mail is they have picked up Burgess from Port Noarlunga
