Winter Indoor Cricket

Postby auto » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:11 pm

Some of the lads from the churches forum have got a team together for Monday night 6 pack at Windsor. Called Team Rita our mascot is some guy named Rita holding a beer. I'll update after every game with all the thrills and spills, all the clashes and smashes, and all the cheers and beers.

Anyone else playing indoor cricket over the winter?

Filled in for my Next Door neighbour's team last year at Woodlands for half a season. Felt a bit sorry for the lads as they were C/D grade cricketers in the Adelaide & Suburban Hard wicket comp and clearly struggled against some very talented/experienced cricketers. All good fun though and I think the main aim was the beers after with out the other half around.

My Neighbour has now moved country for work and as the unofficial captain of the team I think they have collapsed. So I think my indoor career has come to an abrupt end unless someone here plays at Woodlands and needs a player :(

as for superleague itself alot of us use it as a stepping stone to play the national state titles , which is in brisbane this year :D (loving life)

I played at windsor a few years ago, maybe 2 or 3. Went up from d's to c's to b's for a couple games. then gave up. Probably go play there again.

Super League is pretty ordinary these days. Use to have a heap of A grade District guys play it in the off season but that's a rarity now.

Ordinary?

Maybe in the lower grades. The A grade have quite a few gun players in it, and last years comp was closer than ever. A Grade district players are over-rated in Indoor, its a different game. Although i have been trying to get Mr C. Ferguson back out to re-live his under 18 grand final win!!!

Don't think it will happen tho.
