For how long is Grade Cricket going to be the 'fall guy' for the poorer performances of the Redbacks? WA has sixteen teams in Premier cricket but don't see that as a problem. Tasmania, with less than a third of SA's population, has nine teams. The Redbacks problems go a lot deeper than Grade cricket. Besides, the State selectors don't even appear to look at Grade Cricket performances when selecting their teams.
Cheers

Ben Turley:
https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenge ... 8726e6b26eIt was sort of mutually agreed that it would be best that I moved on,” he told The Messenger.
“Some things happened that I felt I was dragged through the mud a little bit and couldn’t move past it and my position at the club became a bit untenable.
“I enjoyed my time at Prospect but I just wasn’t enjoying my cricket as much as I would have liked. Then from there the decision was easy to go back to Woodville.
“The results do play a part in me enjoying my cricket, but the (Prospect) group was so young and I was probably mentally at a different level to where some of those guys were at.
“At the end of the day we’re playing A grade premier cricket, not park cricket where one or no trainings a week is going to cut the mustard.”

There definitely needs to be a few changes made. As I mentioned previously...the pitches, then we discussed the ball and possibly the bye. But it's not an overall bad competition. Melbourne has 18 clubs. They have similar issues as here by the looks of it.
Does it go further by it being a Cricket culture issue in South Australia as a whole? Or SACA culture?
Today's result in the Marsh Cup showed a bit i thought. Ferguson who is a champion cricketer is nearly 35 years of age. Who is the next South Aussie superstar (Head excluded because he is in national squad)? I thought Jake Winter was the guy but he had a few issues too. Any batsman looking the goods at a higher level?

What sort of bloke walks out on his club when captain during a season?
What sort of club takes him?
Think you might find he was given a nudge to leave by the club.
Whats wrong with his original club taking him back where he played all of his juniors?

Noticeable improvement in performance by Prospect on the weekend (granted Brennan was a large factor) in batting and bowling. Perhaps the problem has moved on?

Anyone watch the 20/20's last night, would of been dark batting second in the Pt A, ND's game. Not so in the ER's vs SD's looking at the scorecards.

Random having the Emerging Redbacks playing the same night as the 2nd XI are in the middle of a 4 Day game. I guess they aren't playing for points again so it is a waste of a night.
Twilight games only work in December and January. Any earlier or later and it is dark by 7 30pm.

Agreed - would've been pretty dark at the end of the ND/PA game. Tough day at the office for the 2nd X1 as well - only just started their 2nd innings having fielded all day today in this weather!

So basically the bottom 6 play each other, and the top six (bar Woodville with the Bye) play each other!
Besides 20/20, Woodville dont play game till 11th January 2020!

Adelaide doing the business, take Valente out and they look a little thin in the bowling.
Boylan getting a big one.
Uni were comfortably currently the best team and an undermanned lineup in TTG put them to the sword.
Will they bat on next week? With their bowling attack they might need 500!
Alot of runs yet again this weekend, 4x Hundreds.
Few bags of poles.
Clearly a big jump in the top half teams to the bottom few
Great to see Bosisto and Drew rewarded with state caps, top players of SA premier cricket this season.
On a side note... contracted Oakley from WT has fallen off the planet, any chance of him taking a wicket for the Eagles! Is he playing injured, does anyone know?
