Cramner is the biggest sook in First Grade. They have been on a watch list for tampering for at least 12 months. His and Richo's carry on at the limited overs semi final last year at Campbelltown was a disgrace. Umpires warned them about throwing the new ball deliberately into the turf. Richo told and umpire he would ensure that he would not umpire at a higher level. In the end it cost Kane Richardson a shield game....

Could just imagine the scenes when Woodville complained[emoji38]

Yes. That is the rumour. West Torrens are in the weakest overall position off field out of the 3.

Not much was revealed at the latest GC committee meeting regarding this issue.

West Torrens are in a much more sound financial position than several other clubs actually, including one of the two other clubs being looked at. Additionally, they are one of the two longest surviving clubs and provide more teams in SACA competitions than any other club.

Is that fact or is it "as many"?
I'm not trying to di-sect your statement or rubbish your club as I was quite dumbfounded to hear the news that I did over the weekend.

I would've thought there'd be a few clubs in the firing line before West Torrens.

Hi Lightning,

It is actually 'more teams'. When you look at all SACA-run competitions (Men's, Women's and Juniors), West Torrens supply more teams than any of the other 12.

Cheers

Thanks for the clarification, I knew they'd be up there but I though Kensi's or the Jets may have matched them given both have 3 women's teams.

How do you come to that conclusion? Purely based on assets? $ in the bank? Volunteers/people running the club?

Heard one club lucky not to be losing points through playing an unregistered player in a lower senior grade side last week. Offending club didn't realise he was registered to another PC club, thought My Cricket might have been a good resource to start with.

Still would have been a Kookaburra... and should have been the First Class standard ball that SACA supply anyway.

Was a Kooka, but different brand - cant remember what it was though, regulation maybe? I don't know lol

"Please explain"????

Given West Torrens have 4 x Mens, 4 X Juniors and 2 X Womens Teams playing Premier Cricket - where are the extras that give them more than Kensies and the Jets with 3 X Womens Teams????

Are you including teams other than Premier Cricket Teams?

West Torrens provide two teams to the Western Suburbs Junior Cricket Competition at Under 13 level which is SACA run. As such, they provide one more team in SACA competitions than Kensington and the Jets.

Is it this week that the three clubs are having to make their presentation to SACA about staying in the competition? What an absolute nightmare it must be for them. A high stress situation. No easy way to reduce the number of teams I guess but it sure leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

29th Feb is the day and yes it is causing some angst amongst the clubs! On a side note, WT newsletter reporting Dan Cullen playing his last game this round - bye in the penultimate round for WT and then he is unavailable for the final game. Wonder what the chances are of him turning out for Marion next season?

Heard yesterday East Torrnes were missing 3 players from the First team this round due to suspensions  2 for umpire abuse and 1 for the aforementioned ball tampering........

Looking at who did not play, opening bowler Leigh and captain Cramner, so no surprise with those two.

Would the third one be Cockbain, the pom, or has he just gone home like a few have?

TTG 3/20, Tim Evans, Weaver and now Travis Head out. Long tail with Haberfield, Winter and Nottle.

Bays should not lose from here.
